Advantra Z is a bitter orange extract, which has been shown to increase thermogenesis and basal metabolic rate (BMR). It contains a family of adrenergic amines that mimic the actions of the sympathetic nervous system - they act like the neurotransmitter epinephrine (adrenaline) - but they differ in their effects, as Advantra Z has no stimulant side effects. These amines help to stimulate metabolic processes while increasing the breakdown of fat. They also increase lean muscle mass by encouraging the uptake of amino acids into muscle tissue, and may have mild appetite-suppressant effects. Advantra Z is the only bitter orange extract standardized and purified to contain primarily naturally occurring p-synephrine , no m-synephrine most metabolic enhancements have and should not because it leads to increased blood pressure and heart rate. Advantra Z induces fat breakdown and results in reduced food intake and improved insulin sensitivity, glycemic control and lipid profiles. Certain types of bitter orange do not contain the levels of m-synephrine or the decaffeinated portion of the ECG makes this product suitable to those with sensitivity to caffeine.
