I liked that I can store my battery operated framing, 18 gauge and narrow crown guns in them perfectly I mean I can sit them on their backsides and not have them just thrown in. I also like the weather seal for moisture control. I leave my tools in my care in Minnesota winters and my beater work vehicle isn’t air tight so I get moisture in my vehicle which causes condensation when the interior warms up. Only thing I dislike is the lid has a hinge stop point so when you open it it stays open and doesn’t come down on your fingers when getting tools out but the hinge stopping point snaps like you break it and also it should hinge stop farther back. The stop isn’t even 90 degrees open which is annoying

When I first received this, I thought I was going to have to send it back because it couldn't be opened. While it was sitting at the delivery carriers facility, the temperatures must have varied enough to create a vaccum inside the box. A couple hours after it was delivered, it opened easily. When I opened the shipping box, there was a plastic piece that I couldn't see where it came from, so I tossed it out in the kitchen trash can. A few days later I found the same type of piece where the box was being stored. They are the lower left and right front corner pieces that easily fell out. Luckily, the kitchen trash wasn't discarded, so I was able to retrieve the piece for the left side. I used Super Glue Gel to attatch the two pieces and they'll probably never fall out again. When closing the lid there are loud noises coming from the hinge, possibly a design feature to get beyond what appears to be locking so the lid doens't just fall closed. Overall it's a nice box that I'll be using to transport camera equipment to shoot sites. I tried the shallow trays and foam inserts but they waste far too much in the box for my needs.

Does a great job holding what I wanted it to. Sturdy box, and looks great. I prefer the older ToughSystem boxes because they let you lock the two boxes on top of one another manually, if you wanted to. If you put another tough system box on top of this one, it locks automatically to it. I can see where this would be ideal for some, but for me, it’s inconvenient because I keep it on my back seat, and throw my drill box on top of it and then I have to reach around where I can’t see and fiddle with the latch to free them. I won’t dock it a star for that, as it says auto locking in the description, it just doesn’t work for my needs.

This thing is perfect. It's very large. Built like a tank. Looks cool, and mounted to my adventure bike with a little drilling and a few bolts.

This DeWalt Toolbox is great. Exactly what I needed. However, I had to leave this feedback because the condition of exactly how I received this Storage/Tool Box was just ridiculous and unacceptable. I almost never leave a review, but I wanted to warn potential buyers just in case. This toolbox which is made of basically hardened/thick plastic was just simply placed, bare, inside a cardboard box. With nothing else to support or protect it from potential damage. I understand that even styrofoam can be costly, but NOT even any bubble wrap, no tissue? I mean old newspapers would have done the trick. I was equally shocked and pissed!! If anyone knows how easily these boxes can crack, then you understand why I am making a fuss about this. If this toolbox just happened to bump into something, or even happened to be stacked improperly, then some damage could have occurred while the item is in transit. This was just unprofessional from my perspective. Fortunately, there seems to be no damage after inspecting the box. But buyer beware.... I am not kidding..... A plain cardboard box and nothing else......

Bought this to replace my gen 1 XL toolbox after the lock tab tore out of the back. Some differences between gen 1 and 2: 1) the 2.0 does not have a locking tab on the back to lock onto the DS carrier. 2) the seal on the 2.0 is MUCH more substantial than the gen 1 box. Same material, (so I have no doubts about longevity) but it has a much larger sealing area. 3) they've gotten rid of the air valve on top which for me was a source of water intrusion into my box as it was set low in the cavity for the handle. The 2.0 has an attachment point for smaller toughsystem boxes/bags, which I really like. 4) I like the steel reinforced lock hole, one of the thin plastic ones on my gen 1 broke day one of using it just from me being careless. 5) I don't like that the latches are now mostly plastic. They seem tough enough, but we'll see how long they last. Over-all: I like the new box and have already transfered my tools over to it. I plan on attaching the lock tab from my old box to the new one using a small piece of plate steel I have laying around. I am keeping the old box to store some "around the house" tools.
