CCNA Wireless 200-355 Official Cert Guide (Certification Guide)

This book does a really nice job truly teaching you wireless from the "ground up". The first quarter or so of the book goes over the physical properties, mathematics, and standards of wireless communication, it starts off in simple examples (like shaking a rope) but carefully eases the reader through some logarithms that actually weren't too bad (can easily do it in your head). As a network engineer it was a very enjoyable read. Other reviews were bashing the book for it's effectiveness as an exam preparation product. I think that's a little unfair, you should get your knowledge here and your exam preparation from a practice exam as a follow up. If you want to learn wireless the right way from the ground up this is an excellent and inexpensive place to start. As an official certification guide one would think it covers the exam, but this has to do with Cisco changing their exam creation format to meet ANSI standards. Most books will not align with the exams the way they used to which could be a big shock.. It's certainly inconvenient, but the book overall is an excellent read, just use extra for passing strange exam questions.

Used for passing my CWNA. Excellent book. My only nitpick is the GUI photos are too small to read well, and since remembering the correct sequence of tabs is sometimes needed on an exam, I found it necessary to seek other resources to learn those areas. Otherwise, a great book and a must have for wireless learners.

had much trouble with the access codes to the exam. Had to open up a trouble case before it got fixed in about a week

Post office made some mistakes and the package was temporarily lost in the giant post office in the sky, and no one knew where it was, but eventually it surfaced and arrived as expected. Just took this test twice, and passed on the second try. There is a great deal of information that is not included in this book that is required for the exam. I'd say this book covers maybe 60% of what you'll need to know to both pass the CCNA-Wireless exam and to be a successful wireless engineer. Definitely recommend you get your hands on some practice time with a converged AP wireless environment (3560/3850 switch) in order to be successful. One area of weakness this book has compared to the exam is the location of different reports and features on these devices' GUI interfaces -- you'll need to know which menu trees lead to which function. It's unfortunate when the Cisco-sponsored books don't accurately reflect the exam. Best of luck to you in your exam! kyler

An excellent tool to study and learn from

I am taking the wireless technology class and this book is very important and more over the cd along with this book is very useful more than the book . But the problem is my cd has a code to install it but when I tried to install it ... it clearly shows me some one has used the code already.... I tried it many times and rest of friends who bought the cd has successfully did it but the book from Amazon and the cd code has already been used ..... And this reflects my grades in this course... I felt very bad because of this and I am regular customer of Amazon and sorry to say I am unhappy with this book and cd .... I suggested my friend to get him from the store instead of buying it from Amazon because we buy books for grades and this is useless ... I am sorry I will never buy books from Amazon again....😣😣😣

good book. always like reading the cisco press items, they lay out the material the right way. I hate those books by tomm lambert, the ones with the lighthouse. not sure which one it is... cisco press all the way, am trying to test for this in march

Ich bin eigentlich mit dem Buch noch nicht fertig, bin jetzt eigentlich beim 12.Kapitel. Was ich eigentlich sagen kann, ist es, das der Schriftsteller die einzelnen Themen was Netze und Funkwellen betrifft, sehr gut beschreibt. Ich bin sehr optimistisch, was die eigentliche CCNA Wireless Prüfung, die im Oktober stattfinden wird.

Buen libro para los que quieren profundizar en la mecánica y los protocolos de las comunicaciones inalámbricas. Está bastante orientado al autoestudio y el inglés es bastante fácil de entender (para aquellos que les tire algo para atrás el idioma). Sólo animo a que todo aquel que quiera aprender sobre el tema, le eche un buen vistazo, ya que es muy recomendable, aunque no tenga el pensamiento de certificarse.
