I needed to replace some old worn out brakes on a cheap Schwinn. It's still in decent shape ,so wanted to get it running better without spending a lot. This kit has everything you'll need at a decent price. I think they are better than the originals. They went on fairly easy and work good. I recommend them for both price and quality.

I bought these to replace the stock v-brakes on a 26 inch Huffy. Other than one of the old calipers rusted on the post, the install was pretty easy. Your results may vary as I have a lot of experience maintaining and rebuilding bikes. I would normally buy a name brand like Shimano, but this was a free upgrade for my daughter's friend so I wanted to keep the price down. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these brakes. They are smooth, grippy and seem to be made of good materials. Keep in mind that cable housings are not included, so you may need to purchase extra if you are converting from a different brake type (I recommend Shimano Optislick Cable housing).

I did have a single issue where a bolt would spin in the brake handle.I think the issue is that the casting is too large, allowing the captive nut to spin.I ended up fixing it by taking a larger and longer bolt and nut (from M4 to M5?) and some rings and then tightening it with a spanner instead of using the captive part.I think it's still good value for money (at about $25). They do grip a whole lot better than the old (plastic) brakes.

Brake units are all metal and very high quality for the price. On the other hand, the levers, while also all-metal, lack an internal lever unit - the cable joins the hand lever directly (see picture). Moreover, they appear crudely made even at this price point with lots of vertical play. Would not buy again and will replace the levers with better units.

The on line videos do not show a small appendage that fits in to a small hole on the bike frame. Not a fault of the supplier at all. The brakes work great. No dislikes replaced a brake that was not adjusting. So far works.

These V brakes work well, easy to install but tuning can be a lil tricky, overall a good buy, install on a BMX bike,

Ok Brake but lacking hex bolt for cable lock. Should be same as brake pad wrench?

The media could not be loaded. Went on the bike I had built , fat like a dream . Could be a little more solid . Looks really nice

nice finish and happy the brake pads are included. Made for a nice easy clean install for my conversion from the original cantilever brakes . Wouldn't hesitate to buy again

Not Shimano quality but works as it should. Last piece I needed to complete my commuter bike build.

Ordered this set of brakes for a used bike I purchased recently as the brakes were a bit faulty/malfunctioning. Perfect replacement set for the bike (originally had the 55mm pads but the 70mm fit just fine). They're an improvement over the original brakes (and slightly lighter) which were smaller but also worn out. Only issue I had was I ordered black/blue as the bike is blue, the box says black/blue but I received black/red. No big deal though. Otherwise it's a pretty good, affordable replacement set all in one box.
