I replaced the tilt mechanisms of all our blinds to have cords rather that wands. I tried another brand which had the same criteria but it was too wide. This metal item fits well and works well. It is slightly wider than the original so I had to adjust the blind end bracket slightly on the side of the mechanism. It seems to turn the blind rod in small increments rather than smoothly but I find that handy. It is so much easier to tilt the blind than with the wands! I do recommend this item although I can not judge its long term quality.

When our blind tilt mechanism shattered into 10 pieces, I was worried we'd have to replace the whole set of blinds. Instead, a quick search led me to this product which looked nearly identical to the factory original tilt mechanism. The hardest part of the install was getting the old retainer clip off the rotating bar. I still had the brown pull cord from the original, so I removed the white cord and replaced it with the original one. Once installed, it worked just fine. The only downside is that the tilt operation is not as smooth as the factory one. I double-checked the installation, and it's all aligned properly. I'm hoping the enclosed gear just needs a wear-in period. Either way, it works and was easy to install.

After considering replacing our blinds I decided to see if I could do the needed repairs myself. One the repairs was to the tilting of the slats. These fit perfectly and were easy to install. It took more time to take down blinds down and put them back up then the repair itself. The blinds now function properly and I save myself money by not buying new blinds.
