Pretty and Functional
These products are all based on exactly the same standards these days. If it supports U2F and FIDO2, it does the same thing as any other product on the market. So what days that leave? The PHYSICAL design of the product. The thetis product couldn't be better in that regard. It is a beautiful piece of hardware, all while being extremely functional. Ohhhh, and it has extremely well thought out (a certain brand which rhymes with google released bluetooth wiith a MAJOR security hole in their security product :) bluetooth support (though I don't actually own a device that can utilize this :) It folds up for protection. It has two colors it flashes depending on what the user needs to do (most have just one, and a few have none!). it hooks onto your keychain like any other "real" key. ALl aroundit's just a lovely product. Did I mention how slick it looks. I feel like I'm in future (which is *technically* true unless time stopped? Time is still going right?) Downsides? The anodized black seems to wear off after some time hanging out with the rest of my keys on my key-chain. Software support on linux is still very limited. I can lock some stuff, but some of the big important things don't work (yet, I guess the next release cycle will have tons more support). Finally, (on linux) the only browser with the most comprehensive support (reset device, set pin, among a few other features to configure the device) is Chrome which I personally think is an abomination. None of that is the fault of Thetis though. This is a very bleeding edge technology. For now though this is

Easy to use. Works great.
This security key is a great, cheaper alternative to some of the more expensive Yubico brand security keys. It feels like it has a good build quality, although it is a little thick so putting it on a keychain may add more bulk than some people like. I was able to very easily get the key setup as a form of 2FA for my Bitwarden account and have successfully used it on Windows 10 and macOS. I bought this particular model for the NFC and Bluetooth in the hopes that I could use it on my iPhone. I am still trying to figure out how to get that to work, but I did not deduct a star for it as I believe it is currently a limitation of iOS and not this security key. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that is looking for an inexpensive physical security key to secure their 2FA accounts!

Disappointing Documentation and Website Registration Procedures
The 'FIDO 02' device arrived safe and sound, and I thought it is a light at the end of the tunnel. Then I attempted to read the documentation. I am not a computer geek, I have impaired vision, and the registration instructions on the website are extremely restrictive. I purchased the unit to access my bank accounts from overseas, where I have been and working for the past 48 years. The documentation is, to put it bluntly, 'crap'. It is extremely difficult, to the point of impossible to read or understand. Nice, if you enjoy 20/20 vision, which I do not have. Even with an 8-power magnifier, the print is unreadable. The language of the documentation assumes you spend your life in front of a monitor. I am 76 years old, so for the majority of my life, personal computers did not exist. I purchased my first computer when I was 56 years old. Further, as I have indicated, I am not a geek, I have limited knowledge in the arcane web of computer programming. I give marginal marks for this product due to lack of coherent documentation and its format.

Not worth it
Does not have the ability to pair with mobile. I use Android 16 on an S24 Ultra and it has the capability to connect via BFE. The issue is mobile Chrome does not have the capability of using passkeys and as such, there is no native way for me to connect to the Thetis. On top of that, in the title it says Linux support but the only way that you're using it is is if you're using Chrome, otherwise it's really just a $34 paperweight, which it is in my case. Thetis needs a proper app that actually provides the ability to connect to it, and not have to rely on Chrome. That being said, it's design is compact enough and it feels solid and of good quality. Its included instructions are the complete opposite tho.

Bluetooth is a miss, Usb A works
As of October 10/2021, the Thetis FIDO2 Bluetooth key works reliably and quickly over USB in limited testing with Google, Microsoft and Yahoo. However, the Bluetooth has poor range as compared to other keys I own including the Google Titan Bluetooth key or the Feitian AllinPass K33 Security Key (USBc + Bluetooth with fingerprint sensor) or the Authentrend ATKey.Card (USBa + Bluetooth with fingerprint sensor). My computer is a few feet away from my work table. With this, I have to get up from my seat, place the key directly next to my computer and then activate it. Then, leaving the key in range of the computer, I must return to my seat to type in the PIN, then get up once again to tap the key to confirm. In addition, the handshaking/communication over Bluetooth is significantly slower when compared to directly plugged in and to a lesser extent when compared to the other Bluetooth keys mentioned above. Authenticating over Bluetooth works fine with Microsoft and Yahoo, but fails with Google accounts (tested on Windows 10 with Firefox and Chrome) with the message saying "Can't read your security key. Please try again." Plugged in works fine. Did standard troubleshooting, including deleting the key from my Bluetooth devices and repairing it; then trying other Windows computers. So where does this leave us? The Google Titan Bluetooth is missing FIDO2 (can't be used with Microsoft/hotmail), but works with Yahoo and Google. Battery life is good - lasting weeks to months. Feitian AllinPass K33 Security Key (USBc + Bluetooth with fingerprint ) works Microsoft/hotmail and yahoo, but not Google (I have tried and failed) . As per Feitian's website, it weirdly supports FIDO2 but NOT FIDO U2F. Not as good as the titan ble with battery life, but still decent. Do note that the pure UsbA and UsbC keys without bluetooth such as the Feitian K26 and K27 support both FIDO2 and FIDO U2F (I do not have experience with these). Authentrend ATKey.Card (USBa + Bluetooth with fingerprint sensor) works fine with Google, Microsoft and Yahoo both over USB and Bluetooth. However, it has silent battery drain or significantly lower battery life when compared to the aforementioned competition. In addition, it has a weird annoying bug when the battery is fully drained - it has to be charged for about 5 minutes before it becomes functional. Yes, this means that one must spend 5 mins watching the blinking red led while it is plugged in your computer's UsbA port to go away before it becomes operational. Overall, my current preferred bluetooth key is the Authentrend ATKey.Card and my preferred USB alone key is the ATKey.PRO (these have fingerprint sensors). I like the Atkey.PRo's design of putting finger pressure in the direction of port orientation rather then perpendicular which may result in port damage (like most of the competition including the just released Yubikey Bio). That said, I believe there is room for improvement with Bluetooth FIDO2 and FIDO U2F keys, and would like to see proliferation of the more secure Level 2 keys.

Prodotto indispensabile

Best
One of my favourite tools. Use it for any site that allows them. I have two, may even get an extra as backup. Good quality, better security to email or phone. Works for PC, really easy to setup. The NFC version doesn’t work on iOS though.
