Simplicity
Wow, it's been 3 years that I got this mandolin and I still love it. Most of the time, I use the thin slice mode, which is what I love it for. I can slice onions, zucchini and carrot ribbons, potatoes for scalloped, even firm tomatoes. I don't ever use the second blade, which is for julienne cuts. I had other mandolins which were more sophisticated with lots of blades but they took a big space in my small cabinets. This one fits perfectly in a small drawer of knives. It is just as uncomplicated as I needed to be.

Very good, but BE CAREFUL!!!
Surgically sharp! I like that they make uniformly thin fries in seconds. But the interchangeable parts are a little tricky, and this device WILL slice you eventually when switching them around, because the blade protector is one of the sections one must remove to change the slicing thickness. We I use them to make fires only. Less likely to butcher my hands that way.

So Easy
Really like this I use it almost everyday.

I got good results w/ this slicer.
Very happy w/ this mandolin. The only drawback is the limit of only 2 slice thicknesses, but for this price I guess I can't expect more. The slicing plates easily lock into place & unlock w/ the turn of a knob. Does not slip when used over a bowl & can be propped up on its foldable handle to use on a cutting board. Handle seems to be sturdy so it won't fold under use, but I haven't used it that way yet. Seems to be sturdy, easy to clean under running water w/ a brush. I think it's dishwasher safe, but I don't have one, so I can't verify that w/ my own experience. Blades are very sharp! I choose to use Kevlar kitchen gloves rather than the hand-safety food-pusher thingy. I don't like the way they poke holes all in the food & then waste so much! But DO use safety protocol or you WILL easily lose a piece of your hand!
