Great price for a universal rail
Like others have said these rails will take up part of 1U..... but if you look at a picture of it then it should be clear why that is. So if you plan to mount a 2U server on top of it, make sure you have 3U of rack space basically.Assembly was simple, I mounted the front pieces and then back pieces of the rails followed by connecting the rails together with the 8 provided screws. I wish this unit came with 16 screws so that I could fill all 16 connection points I had between the front and back pieces but a trip to the hardware store will fix that that. Before anyone asks "will server <xyz> fit?" just look at the depth specs, if you server can fit into that then this will work. It doesn't attach to your server, you just sit the server on top of the rails just like if you mounted a tray into the rack. I mounted a case on top that weighs around 45lbs with 15 drives and the rest of the server guts into it so.... ~60lbs mostly front heavy, and this rail system is holding it up fine. My rack depth is around 29.5 inches.

Seems sturdy like the other Navepoint stuff I've bought. Works perfectly in a Startech rack.
The only thing that was weird was that it came with a bunch of screws that looked like rackmount screws (but no clip-in rackmount attachments) that ultimately weren't used for anything, and the screws that joined the front and back parts together were only four per side (there were six holes per side to tighten). It looks like someone screwed up what mounting hardware came with it, but I already have a bunch of unused rack attachments in a box so it's not like it mattered to me. Just pointing it out in case someone is expecting that it has the right mounting hardware out of the box. Five stars for a quality product, but they might want to do some quality control on what's going in the box.

- Very strong and sturdy after you align it with your rack - Doesn't ...
Crazy Strong! Bought this to use with a 1U Rackmount UPS. Cyberpower OR1500LCDRM1U to be specific. The UPS is REALLY heavy as it's densely packed into a 1U enclosure. It's roughly 49 Lbs, so if you're shopping for something along these lines look no further.Pros:- Very strong and sturdy after you align it with your rack- Doesn't scratch hardware (As bolts are thin headed and don't affect hardware that's slid onto the rails)- Includes a few different size bolts in case you need extrasCons:- None as of now, Well worth $30Hope this was helpful!

Good alternative solution if you don't have rails.
I used these to mount a couple of Dell rackmount servers that I didn't have the rail kit for. It was cheaper than buying the rails. I was a bit skeptical that these could actually hold the weight (as stated in its specifications). The package comes disassembled and you have to screw the front and back sets of each side together. I have to admit the assembled unit did feel solid and it's holding 70+ pound server with ease. Installation into the cabinet was easy too. Prior to fully tightening the side screws I fitted the bracket on the cabinet and then carefully pulled the bracket out (holding it tightly in the middle) so that I could then fully tighten the screws that hold the front and back sections together.

Love it! Saved us.
Worked great for us. We needed the full 17.5" opening in our rack for a switch that we didn't want to use the integrated rail system with. This saved us! Switch fit in perfectly. 4 post setup keeps it sturdy also. Thank you!

It works, but it takes up a partial U ...
It works, but it takes up a partial U of rack-space, so you can not just put two of them 2 U apart and expect to slide in 2, 2U servers. Because the bottom bracket is thick, it will work OK to support 2 servers, but the thickness of the bracket means you cannot mount these one above the other. My solution is I used one shelf bracket to support two servers. One just sitting on top of the other.

Excellent alternative to factory rails and upgrade for fixed mounting ears
I bought these thinking they will get me by until official rails can be located for a couple switches that I can't find the factory rails for. I was skeptical on how 2" flanges can support even a 1U switch. After receiving these it is apparent. The metal reminds me of cast iron but it seems too thin to be so (but still rather thick). Either way, these things are solid. A previous reviewer mentioned a piece of plywood between the rails. I could see that if you did not have full width devices or if you wanted to use the rails/plywood as a seat to sit on.I have every confidence in the world that if you put plywood between the rails, you could then stand on it when you are done. Like I said the metal seems similar to cast iron. There is no flex in it, so if you did stand on it and it did not hold, it seems like it would snap as opposed to bend.I usually don't write reviews on amazon, only when I believe in something and questioned it before purchase. As long as these stay at this price point, I will be buying more for sure.

Good shelf, better company
Shelf is..well, a rack shelf. Using it for a UPS, works great. But the company deserves five stars across the board; I had lagged on my rebuild project and when I finally got around to it discovered that one of the rear extension rails was missing. I sent a message and all they wanted from me was to confirm my address, had a whole new kit within days. Excellent company, will be looking to them for future needs for sure...
