Microsoft Keyboard 850

This is my second time purchasing this keyboard. It works well and is well worth the price! Highly recommend!

This is the third one of these I've had over a stretch of many years. Eventually the letters wear out and they get dirty, though the keyboards still work. I finally got this because at the price (less than $20!) it's the computer equivalent of having that "new car smell". Since I didn't get the combo with the wireless mouse, I have to use two USB receivers, but since I have a USB extension for outboard drives that had available slots, it wasn't a problem to use this with my old mouse.

update: Even though the keyboard is less than 12 feet from the computer, I have poor connectivity and must raise the keyboard above the comforter and point it within like a 65 degree arc of the computer for it to actually receive the keystrokes. Aside from that, I'm good, as described below: I'm a pretty fast typist. (~80 wpm) and I translate japanese light novels while lying in bed. I need a keyboard that's efficient, sturdy, has an intuitive key layout, and is physically stable while resting on a blanketed lap. Additionally, I want a keyboard that use a user-replaceable battery, because failed proprietary batteries make the device itself fail, and product failure due to passage of time is unacceptable. Compared to my last wireless keyboard, this one is lighter while being comparably rigid, and the key action registration effort is FAR more consistent and efficient than my last. Additionally, keystrokes are registered on the screen without any lag or missed keys. With such a great price and no issues with performance, this easily scores 5 stars. My biggest criticism is that I wish the backspace key were larger. It's not as horribly small as that of a lot of laptops, but not as easy to strike as the ergonomic keyboard which sits at the desktop computer.

I work at home and this is a great keyboard for the size of my desk and I love the fact that it only has what you need and not a big outside border. The perfect size. Only thing I could say is that it can be a little loud when you are typing, but I don't notice it and don't want to ding the product over it. I'm very satisfied. Easy to use and connect to your laptop for a home office.

I am really not sure why there are so many negative reviews. This keyboard is fantastic! I have had it for over two years and use it every day. I work in information technology so it gets a really workout each time I use it. I have even spilled soda, coffee and food bits on it. Still, it shows absolutely no signs of wear. Bottom, this is an amazing keyboard for a really great price!

Seems to drain batteries really quickly. I got this to replace an older version extremely similar to this (I think this is the successor to my old one). Idk if batteries are worse these days. My theory is Microsoft is in cahoots with Big Battery to make the keyboard drain batteries fast. My old keyboard the batteries lasted months. Anyway, this is still working years later. Just wish it didn't drain the batteries so quickly.

No delay for gaming, yet not a gaming keyboard. I'm not a big fan of Microsoft, actually I hate Microsoft company but this product is amazing. I have been using the same model for more than 5 years. Very strong and sturdy, good weight. and ZERO lag for gaming.

I picked up this keyboard for work because all of the wires under my desk drive me nuts. While the keyboard is comfortable to use, (after all, it IS just a keyboard) I am contemplating sending it back. The absence of an indicator light for both the Caps Lock and the Number Lock is extremely frustrating. Especially at work when I'm having to go back and forth between different systems and one requires everything in capital letters and the other will not take them. It's a shame too, because I really do like the keyboard.

Absolutely useless. Used for two weeks already replaced batteries twice

El teclado se siente de buena calidad y es cómodo. Le falta la luz indicadora de las mayúsculas (creo que es algo común en los inalámbricos). Le faltan algunas teclas que son comunes, el uso de otros teclados hace que instintivamente uno pueda adivinar la tecla que falta en el lugar indicado.
