Anime's favorite son in book form
I bought this for my granddaughter who has watched all 250+ episodes of Naruto. I was pleased that she asked for the book to read at school during study period. For non-anime-loving grannies like myself, and as a retired teacher, I can say that Naruto is one of the better anime's for younger pre-teens. It's the story of a little boy who triumphs over the adversity of life and sets his sights on something others see as unattainable, and succeeds. It does have a certain level of violence and language that's usual for anime, but it is one of the milder ones. I found the price point to be much cheaper than other anime books, so I didn't mind getting this for her and will buy the other volumes in the future. She's reading, that's important in the 6th grade!

Crisp condition
We ordered the book for my son who happens to love Naruto. Since the book is loaded with pictures it's good for younger kiddos who can't read yet. The only thing is the sexy jutsu that Naruto does has some revealing pictures of girls in the Manga. I just colored clothes on the girls and called it a day.

an amazing series, except for the edits
i loved this series and it was in fact my first manga series. a big problem i had with the english versions was that many important devices etc. were censored because they werent deemed "appropriate". one big example is with a character named shikamaru. his master asuma dies in battle against against an evil organization. the master (asuma) smoked, and out of respect and in order to keep asuma living shikamaru starts to smoke. when the series was translated to english certain parts were cut out, like shikamaru smoking. niw in many panels it shows him holding a lighter but no ciggarette. now whike this may have been deemed inappropriate for a youhnger audience, this manga is rated teen, so this ommision was not necessary. other than these instances though, this is an amazing series that is deep and fun a must read.

Not designed for guided view, but is designed to warm your heart.
Technical review: The manga looks amazing. I wanted to read it in guided view, but it doesn't line up properly, but the word bubbles are big enough to read in one page view. However if you tilt your tablet sideways for double page view they are a little too small, but this is a must for a couple panels that take up two pages. The guided view not lining up properly is most likely because they just scanned the pages instead of running it through their word scanner which probably doesn't work with pictures. This is bad because guided view doesnt work but great because nohing is messed up like the Game of Thrones digital copy where apparently their word scanner messed up a lot of the book by misspelling a ton of words and names. This book uses a bit of Japanese sounded out words to describe villages and ninja moves and would have most likely gotten butchered.Story review: ...WOW!!! I fell in love with Naruto all over again. I watched the anime a lot when it first came out but shortly fell out of anime all together. I recently have gotten really into reading DC Comics and though I didnt read manga when I was into anime I figured I would give it a try...thank goodnes I did. A lot more fun than the cartoon, in my opinion, because I don't remember laughing as much and I definitely don't remember crying. Yes! This book brought me to tears and made me immediately want to purchase Vol. 2. An amazing story, a must get.

!!!!Naked woman
I'm giving 5 stars because it arrived quickly, in good condition and was as described. It was my fault for not looking into the actual book before buying. HOWEVER I bought it for my 8 year old cousin and received a very angry phone call from his parents when he showed a naked girl on one of the pages. The "important bits" were covered but still not super appropriate for an 8 year old... like I said, my fault for not being more thorough in my research, but that's why I'm posting this review, so others may not accidently did what I did 😅.
