A good learning experience
I'm 70years trying to learn some arduinoI fumbled with this kit for a few days till I finally figured it outI built the elego version of this and that was fun but I learned more with this kit. However unless a child is very gifted I would not recomend this kit for anyone under 10And even then with help from someone familiar with the workings of computers

Look for a Better Kit
This kit has serious flaws. The plastic parts are flimsy. I accidentally broke one of the fragile leg pieces during assembly, and the face plate always seems like it is on the verge of falling off. The instructions are barely passable, and the kit does not include the necessary 18650 batteries. Also, many of the parts are extremely small. I hoped my 9-year-old daughter, who has successfully assembled other robotics kits, would be able to build this, but I had to do much of the work for her. Save your money for a better kit. I will probably repurpose the components for another project.

Cute robot, teeny-tiny nuts, bolts and screws.
I found that using a piece of tape to hold the itty-bitty nuts made assembly MUCH easier. Of course I didn't figure this out until after I'd dropped 1/2 dozen nuts and spent 20-30 minutes looking for them (they bounce a surprisingly long distance)Also, I guess the first part of the instructions is generic, the first three lessons talk about programming a Arduino Uno or Arduino 2650.Neither of those 'module types' will work with the Arduino Nano included with this robot.Save yourself a bunch of frustration and set the module type in the Arduino IDE to "Arduino Nano" right from the start, otherwise it won't accept the program. Also once you get to the end and start using the bluetooth module, make sure to remove it before tryping to upload programs. Again it won't accept a program with the module installed. So remove the module, upload your program, then plug the module back in.Also, when I loaded the included app onto my Android phone, the phone complained that the app was built for Android 8 and might not work. My phone is running Android 11 and it works just fine. I looked around but couldn't find an update version of the app.

Ordered twice, both times missing important pieces, but - could still be a value...
I ordered this kit twice (got another sent for returning first one), but both kits missing same parts, although kits were sealed and not damaged.Good price on a kit that includes a pretty good assortment of both electronic components and hardware to build the robot, BUT, it is missing the parts that make up the legs and to attach the servo motors to the feet, so you are unable to complete the build. You do get an Arduino Nano, a nano expansion board, a bluetooth module, 4 servo motors, an ultrasonic sensor, and a battery box with cable to connect to expansion board. You also get all the screws and standoffs to connect the parts together. If you add up the price of this components purchase separately, it may exceed the cost of the kit alone! There are no instructions, but the Lafvin website has excellent documentation on both the build and programming of the Panda Robot, so sorry I did not get complete kit!So, if you order, please check kit for completeness before starting the build. I have included an image with missing parts enclosed in a bold red border.Really wanted to build this for my nephew!

Not for children or beginners
I attempted to assemble this with my 10 year old. We have assembled other robots for kids. The instructions were pictures that did not include good explanations. When it was almost completed realized the feet were on the wrong sides. Attempted to unscrew everything to fix that and the plastic piece that holds the foot on broke. So, we were unable to complete the robot. The screwdriver included was not small enough for the tiniest screws. The wrench was too big for any of the nuts. The patience and dexterity needed to complete this would require at least a teenager experienced with assembling extremely small projects. The nuts and screws are extremely small and the areas they are to fit into are difficult to place them in. Lots of time spent looking for nuts or screws that dropped as my fingers had difficulty holding them in place. We both agree this is not a good kit for kids.

Do not recommend
I asked my sister n law to get this for my daughters birthday. She is very in to robotics. We couldn't even get passed the first step because the screw for it did not fit. And you can't replace them with any of the others. She was pretty disappointed.
