Kuranda Chewproof Bed - Silver Aluminum - 40" x 25" - Cordura Nylon - Smoke

I bought the large aluminum frame as it looks better in the house even though my pup is 60 lbs. The bed arrived one day early than expected.It took me about twenty minutes to completely assemble the bed. Required a Phillips screwdriver and a wrench to tighten the nuts on the corners and a battery powered screw drill to set the leg screws.Once you have three corners attached and snuged up (not tight) the last corner took a little longer. The bed wants to twist so you have to make sure it's flat and work the side pipes into the last corner. Once they are all on make sure to lay it flat before tightening it all up.I had one leg that gave me a little bit of an issue. All three legs went together well but the little white plastic piece was set a little higher and didn't line up with the hole for the screw. I removed the rubber foot and set the plastic piece a tad deeper where it would line up. Once lined up and installed, I tapped the leg with a rubber mallet and put the rubber foot back on.All in all it was quite simple to put together.

This is not my first Kuranda bed purchase. We have 3 German Shepherds. Need I say more. These beds are what the trainers use to train the dogs. It is “their place “. The dogs love them! These beds are sturdy, lightweight so they can be easily moved and extremely durable. The dogs can run and jump on them and they don’t slip. We just use the hose to hose them off. We did not have any problems with assembly. We will end up getting another one for our summer cabin. These beds are well worth the money.

So, I looked at so many reviews of different dog beds that I think I started dreaming about them. I finally decided on the Kuranda XL chew proof bed and couldn't be happier. Plus, bonus points for it not just being built in the USA but in my old hometown in Maryland. When the box arrived, I was a bit concerned - it was a shipped in a tall, thin box but seemed really lightweight. I unpacked the box and realized that although it was lightweight, it was constructed really well. The instructions said it takes 15 minutes to put together but I took my time (I tend to put things together backwards first) so it was a bit longer for me. Thankfully, the instructions were easy to follow and I got it together on the first try. I was so pleased to see how well it's made. My GSD jumped right on as soon as the 4 legs hit the ground. The XL was a perfect fit for her - she's 1 1/2 years old and about 65 lbs. I really liked that it doesn't sag in the middle when she sits on it (don't want to give my baby girl a complex - some of the other beds I looked at sagged so much that it looked like their dog needed to cut back on the cheeseburgers). The thing that really made me take notice of this brand was my local humane society has this bed on their wish list - I figure, if the humane society wants it, it must be really good! Overall, it is expensive but in this case, you get what you pay for and I couldn't be happier. I took a few pics in case anyone else is pouring over reviews like I had been and wanted some visuals (please don't mind my dirty floors!) I haven't had to clean it since it was brand new out of the package, however I can tell the material will be really easy to clean. Hope this helps someone!

We have 4 dogs and this has been our go to over and over again. I highly recommend.

Sturdy and good quality materials, but the assembly was unreasonably difficult. You can't screw in the legs without a power tool. Getting the fourth corner frame in place was a frustrating and lengthy ordeal. I would probably opt for the PVC frame if I could do it over again.

I have 6 of these beds and they have helped up great. I haul them to the car wash to deep clean if needed and they are all as nice looking as the day I got them.They can be a little frustrating to put together but if I can do it anyone can!

Easy to assemble. Light weight to carry in or outside.

Bought the extra large for our 80# Lab. Easy to assemble, well built, he has been using it for almost a year with no sign of wear.
