Can it be submerged under water for cutting cattails?

Even though you may cut something like hedges with moisture on them, the blades are supposed to be lubricated to prevent corrosion. Bear in mind that this has an electric motor and such an action as trying to cut any vegetation growing in water will likely also get water in the motor and ruin it. I'd never try it.

My box states made in Vietnam, but a sticker on the head says made in Mexico. Dealer states made in China. Who knows.
