Plug and Play, No Driver Needed for most use cases (but comes with driver disk if needed)
Plug and Play. This PCIe card does not need a driver in order to work. Most Operating systems already have support for 9-pin Serial built in to the OS. My use case scenario includes a software called ProxMox Virtual Environment (PVE) which is a Type 1 Hypervisor and has support for this card out of the box. PVE is the main OS where this card is installed and the OS was able to recognize it as PVE uses Debian as a backbone for the software. Most Debian/Ubuntu and RHEL based distros will have support for DB9 Serial cards out of the box.As stated above, the card is installed into my PVE server and the card is being passed through to multiple VMs. I have Port 1 and 2 going to a Windows VM that i use to remote into network equipment using a software like MobaXterm or Putty. Port 3 is going to a separate VM that i have setup running Ubuntu Server with software to monitor an older UPS system that can only be monitored over Serial and Port 4 is not currently in use. Most computers made within the last 6-10 years do not come wtih DB9 Serial ports built in so this PCIe card is a definite plus to have and with multiple ports on the card, its definitely well worth the price.

Works great on Windows 11 using the AX99100 drivers
For my friends who want to set up this card on a Windows 11 machine, the installation disk has the drivers that match the hardware ID for AX99100 are under the Serial-Parallel CardAX99100 directory.I tested them using a serial port to an old Cisco switch I had in the recycle pile and was able to map out the ports using a Putty Serial port connection selecting one by one to map them out.Cheers!

A Great 4x DTE RS-232 Card
If you're on this page, chances are you know what RS-232 is. If not, this is not the card for you; it will not explain itself. Much like the standard itself, it will presume a certain level of forethought and prep -- human negotiation of baudrates and flow control, device pre-configuration before data transmission. Such versatility is the hallmark of the standard, and one that this card exhibits well. When installed, it should not need further setup on modern systems -- RS-232 is so old that virtually every OS under the sun has built in support for interfacing with it, and once installed you should be able to leverage those features through your operating system itself.I've had this card in my desktop for only a handful of months, utilizing all four ports on and off nigh constantly. In that time, I have had no issues -- just consistent data transmission and reception at the requisite speeds, with no observable variation in transmission versus other UARTs I am using.Throw in the fact that it is so affordable - a meager $5 per port - and if you've not already been convinced, then this is not the card for you.
