It can handle non-nerf brand darts but these can jam as well since the aren't specifically manufactured to run in Nerf brand guns.

Any of Nerf's flywheel operated dart guns can have mechanical issues as well as darts jamming in the gun. If the gun was working and suddenly stopped as you described it could be an issue with the flywheel and should be returned or exchanged. Unless you are mechanically inclined then there are videos out there that address diy repairs

Have far will the foam nerf travel

The foam grenade will go about 10 feet sometimes further if you arc it. The darts themselves can go 15 to 20 feet again depending on the arc. My kids have gotten them to span two rooms in their fights.

Is the bottom hand rail supposed to stay in place? Mine keeps sliding forward when the blaster is pointed toward the floor.
