La Fe Casabe Cassava Bread (Cassabe (7oz 14 Pack))

I have celiac disease and my diet is very limited. I cannot handle any cross contamination of wheat. I was purchasing this cassava bread from another company but they went out of business when the covid hit. I was really bummed out. I was trying to figure out how to make this myself. It looked like a major undertaking. I was so happy to find this cassava bread and I actually like it better than the one I was buying before because it's thicker. It's is a daily part of my diet because I cannot eat many of the foods that some people who are gluten intolerant can eat. I drizzle olive oil on it and sprinkle salt and crushed rosemary on it and then bake it on 350 degrees for 8 min. it's great! Even my husband likes it. We eat it with things like tuna, almond butter, with eggs for breakfast, etc. The only thing I would change is the packaging. Although the packaging is much better than the last brand I was getting, the packaging could still use improvement. It gets broken up quite a bit during shipping. I am so appreciative to be able to get it though, that I will still happily buy it.

This is great for Paleo, AIP and other grain-free diets. I see a lot of reviews for this (other sellers) that it tastes bad and is a crumbly mess. It absolutely HAS to be toasted to taste good and have a good, crispy texture. It is essentially par-cooked. Experiment. I toast it as much as possible before it starts smoking. If it starts smoking in your toaster, it will not stop until the entire thing has been reduced to ash so watch it carefully (I've heard it can also catch on fire though this has not happened to me). I have not had a problem with excessive breakage but this cracker is very delicate and will crumble and break easily. You have to expect that. It's almost always in pieces but I break it up more to fit it into the toaster.

The media could not be loaded. I purchased a box of the above product (approximately (14) packages (Cassava Flatbread/Casabe). In the past it was sold (4) pieces per package. Recently the price has gone up, like everything else but there is now (3) pieces per package and the price has almost doubled. I am not complaining about the price per se but the quality of the product is of the poorest. The advantage the seller has is that the product comes completely wrapped in paper so it's not visible until it's unwrapped. The mistake I made was to buy such a large amount. I believe that because the seller knows the product cannot be seen before it is purchased they took advantage of packaging a poor quality product. Each package I opened I hoped that it would be better but to the very last package they were as seen in the picture broken up in hundreds of pieces along with crumbs. I am an elderly person and I have been eating this product my entire life, I refuse to accept the excuse that it was caused by shipping and handling. No, the quality of the product is what caused the breaking. Usually the pieces break but they break in whole pieces. Not crumbs. The quality is just poor. I didn't go to the trouble of returning them. I'll take the loss but I cannot sit back, given the opportunity to give a review and not let other people be aware of my experience. I will only purchase this product if it's wrapped in plastic. I happen to know it's sold it clear plastic because I've bought it before, in clear plastic where I can see what I'm getting for my hard earned cash. I wish this seller nothing but the best!

AWESOME EXCEPT A LITTLE TOO THICK USED AS FARINE IN MY COCOA

I honestly recommend buying this brand because is the only brand that really offers fresh casabe. Like I’ve tried other brands and they arrive broken and sometimes the bags are open. These are excellent quality at a low price and they always arrive on time.
