How long is the hose that comes with it?

The item size description is so much confuse.My show as 2x8x20 But after i bought it the i found out that the tube 2 “ wide,15 “ long.The hose alone 73” long and 1/2” wide....

Will this work well with a sand substrate? If not, can you recommend something that I could use to effectively clean sand substrate?

Sand is triple work then gravel which I clean daily. You need to gently siphon debris off the top then stir the sand up really well letting it settle for a few minutes and siphon again. Repeat with water changes, repeat again and pow the most beautiful tank you have ever seen. It's the elbow grease lol.
