4 Piece Solar Fence LED Light Set

We ordered two sets of these lights (8 total). They do take a little longer to come in the mail than you might expect. The lights we received look nothing like the one in the picture. That said, the ones we got look a lot better and sturdier than the one in the photo. The lights we received are flat and silver metal (probably aluminum). They are really bright and provide excellent lighting on our porch steps, though the light only lasted about 3-4 hours after sunset for us. I gave the lights four stars because the lights we received are really nice looking and I think the short lighting time may be because we live in Maine and it's currently winter. This means we aren't getting very much sunlight and there's also been a lot of snow lately.

I ordered a set of four to try out and liked them so much I ordered 16 more! The only reason I don't give it a five is the fact they aren't quite as bright as I would like even though they have two LEDs. I have some other solar lights with one LED that are just as bright. On the positive side I really like the mounting system. Locate, level, and place the two screws, and the lights slip right on. I have some other lights that just won't stay put with their plastic mounts but these have a hard synthetic material that stays put and keeps the lights secure. I am ordering 16 more to finish mounting on my vinyl fence. I haven't had any of these fail so far. I recommend them unless you need really bright lights.

All 4 lights are working really well. I put two on a block fence with Velcro Extreme Indoor/Outdoor Rough Surface Fastners. A great combination where you cannot use screws. These do come with a place that you can screw to wood fences or posts, but it you position right, you can use a strong velcro for block and cement steps. The light shines down just like the photos show for a wonderful accent to your home. I also put one above the latch to my back gate so I can see it should I ever need to go out with no lighting. An inexpensive way to dress your house up at night. And definitely not an ugly distraction during the day.

These are SOFT WHITE (YELLOW LIGHT) and REQUIRE A TINY SCREWDRIVER TO CHANGE THE BATTERY. If you order the same lights directly from Harbor Freight, they are Bright White (WHITE LIGHT) and don't require a screwdriver to change batteries. The one from Harbor Freight cost a little more, $26 for 4 including shipping, but if they don't come on, common with solar lights from China, you have to break out your teeny tiny screwdriver and probably lose the microscopic screws in the process.

Famous last words: I should have read the fine print - I thought I was getting four complete lights; what I got was 4 pieces which assembles to 1 light. There was another vendor selling the same item which was 7.99 for 2 complete lights, which is why I thought I was getting 4 complete lights for $16.00 +/- from this vendor. the product is exactly what I expected, I find the wording of their description a bit misleading.

I don't like to write bad reviews but this sort of stuff happens so often and there is no excuse.If you're going to go through the process of manufacturing an item, why would you not makeit to last more than a week.these are attractive. When they worked, they looked nice. They all went kaput shortlyafter buying them. Now I'm leery of ordering any similar items for fear theywill be money wasted

Something other reviewers have not mentioned... the battery compartment is accessed via tiny (think optical) screws, rather than a pop-off cover like the other brands I have purchased in the past. Of course you would not know this until you opened the package and had it in your hand. This is a deal breaker for me.... even though changing batteries should not be a frequent event, messing with tiny screws that require a specialized screw driver (and are easy to drop/lose) is an unacceptable engineering flaw. The mount is ok (other brands use the same), they seem to work so far... but the screws are stupid. Perhaps the idea was to make them tamper proof?

Unit only stayed lit for 2-3 hours, not the 9 in the description. First day exposed to combination of direct/indirect sunlight for an entire day (12+ hours), but it only stayed lit for 2-3 hours. Tried it again the next day in full sun, with the same result. Wouldn't want to see how it works in winter.
