Awesome bluetooth speakers!!!
These speakers are awesome! I got them to replace my Logitec Z337 set, which were damaged after being dropped from taking them from my kitchen counter down to my den.. The Z337s were no longer available, so I tried the Z407s, which were the upgraded model.. The new set is wonderful!! The speakers are the same legendary quality that Logitec is famous for, and the subwoofer delivers even more bass than the old Z337 sub did!! Super easy to set up, and they are bluetooth enabled, so less cords!!! Also, the volume controller (also helps connect the wi-fi) is of superb construction and seems much more durable than the Z-337 controller (which was the only complaint I had about the Z-337s.. The dial fell apart rather quickly! LOL)... All in all, the Logitac Z-407s are an amazing set of speakers that deliver excellent sound and bass, and are also a great deal for your money!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product!!!!

Great for small spaces.
Good sound. the subwoofer has good bass although the speakers could be a little louder. They system seems durable and Bluetooth connection with my iMac is solid.

Yes & no, the GOOD & not so great.
Happy but disappointed in some areas. Let’s start by these are “computer speakers” & as a potential buyer, do not expect more & you will be fine. Hence 4 stars for such but perhaps 3 for other uses. Obviously they aren’t designed for throwing parties, playing in night clubs nor the home theater setup with a projector and or 100” massive screen. They are in fact pretty much just computer speakers and I’m pleased with that. I’m not a huge gamer. I only fly realistic RC simulators and or play golf & baseball games that are more than a few years old. These perform well there & I see no issues. However I anticipate the remote to be an issue, more on that later. Listening to music in general they sound fairly decent. Would these be my first pick to pair with my phone if I’m in a music mode, no I’ll leave them be as computer speakers. The bass, mids etc are noticeable as are lyrics across all genres except classical. If I’m streaming while working on a project on my computer, well then I am pleased. Now with classical music you do not have much depth or spatial sound & the bass disappears with some pieces so it’s a no go for Bach, Beethoven & Tchaikovsky. Depending on the age of recording I guess drums and large woods don’t exist in full sound, they’re missing ¿. But if you want some LL, Cube or Barry White the bass reappears. I do see a potential issue like I mentioned with the controller. It feels much more like a novelty than professionally designed feature. It lags at times and I question its long term survival. Additionally outside Bluetooth, they really lack any comprehensive choice of connections. You see the cost cutting there for sure. To summarize, hey a got a good deal on typical Logitech Computer Speakers but didn’t score a great sound system. They are worth it at the price point for general speakers. It is unfortunate you can’t control the sound any further than on/off/volume. But that may have been intentional to protect their lifespan. I dunno. Pretty much you’re browsing computer speakers.

A great sound to enhance your experience.
I love plenty of bass in my music. It adds to the richness of the sound. This set booms out a full body sound that rivals much larger equipment. The two smaller speakers gives a brilliant presence and fits nicely under your big screen monitor. The subwoofer can be under your desk with cables long enough to accomodate many locations. The puck control is a great idea. It works like the volume control on your stereo. Clock wise for loud and counterclockwise to lower the sound. One click and you can adjust the bass boost. A great package.

Loud
Loud and very punchy for the size. Little remote is nice. One thing I wish it had was app support. To change the bass you have to use the remote. But for this price point you get more than you could expect.

Great sound, good features in a 2.1 system that mostly works well
UPDATED 1/2/2024 I've owned a couple sets of these for a few years now. First set started popping and intermittently losing satellite. Trashed (3 yrs old). Second set seems to be awful about keeping the bluetooth connection going. Here are the things you can do to keep it running (results are still mixed): 1. Switch to USB or 1/8" stereo. Yeah, non-starter for lots of use cases. Still, best way to avoid sound cutting off. 2. Make sure you know what app the bluetooth thingy is "listening" to. It will be the one that the puck controller can start and stop and may not be what you expect. Close the app if it isn't what you think, or set something running to keep the connection going. For example, if Spotify the app is what you're listening to, and the puck starts a youtube video, then close your browser, or set a long running video as low volume as you can (it has to have *some* volume, no non-sound vids...). If you close the "other" app, make sure the puck is now controlling the one you are on. 3. Make sure you have an app going that the bluetooth thingy can "monitor" your sound source. If the puck can't start/stop it and there's something running it can, it will "monitor" that. See #2 to keep that running. If only a single sound source is running (say a game) then usually (in my experience) it will stay going as long as the source is sending sound. This is NOT a wireless set, but you can use bluetooth to avoid the wire going to your PC. Sound is well above average for computer speakers, but certainly not studio quality. I run a set at home and at the office and both are on bluetooth right now. My biggest gripe with this set is that it just stops playing bluetooth sound sometimes (you can punch/turn the dial to wake it up). Super annoying when on Zoom especially (yes I CAN use them for that without feedback). Others say the USB connection is solid, so I may have to swap to that for the main PC in each location. Pros: 8 bluetooth connections supported, all at once (no need to disconnect one for another, just rolls with whatever source is running) Can use one speaker set for laptop and desktop (and phone, and...) at the same time Very good overall sound for computer speakers (not for audiophiles, but you knew that already by the price) Satellites can be upright or horizontal and it's EASY to swap The dial is convenient for play/pause and volume control Cons: Bluetooth disconnects randomly, even while playing sound streams, esp. on Zoom & Minecraft for me Dial operations are weird - delayed or just don't work Sub is biased to one frequency in particular, no EQ capability Connect/disconnect sounds way too loud

Barely ok
The speakers sound great and are pretty easy to set up. However, I won't be buying this again in the future. There are some annoying things I have had to deal with. First the dial/puck; is nice however it is inconsistent. It enters a sleep mode if not in use to preserve battery since it is wireless. However should have been rechargeable instead of using batteries. It likes to sometimes acknowledge I am turning the dial slightly and other times I do the same thing 2-3 times in a row because it didn't acknowledge I was turning it and I then have to do a big (and violent sometimes because I am irritated) turn and it will finally change the volume. You would be surprised to hear that doing this causes the volume to skyrocket in the direction of rotation as a result. I thankfully don't have to do this often as usually, one volume works fine for most of my purposes. The BIGGEST annoyance is the speakers turning off after 15 or so minutes of no sound being played. Not only is there a second (give or take) delay before they turn back on but there seems to be a certain volume threshold. The threshold is my biggest complaint by far! At least twice a day I come back to my desk and play a video that isn't quite loud enough to turn them back on. This leaves me with some options (all I don't like) 1. Increase the volume (no it is loud enough for my liking) 2. spin the puck to wake it up (please see the first part of this review) and 3. Open Spotify, make sure the volume slider in it is at max and play a small portion of a song until the speakers come back on. My $30 sound bar before this was far less annoying and served the same purpose. (I'll be it with a green light bar I couldn't shut off) I would not ever recommend this unless you have everything obnoxiously loud on your computer. And before you say "I'm sure there's a way to fix your issues" I did look. and the things I tried didn't work I did see people saying they found success with a program that plays specified audio like an almost completely silent 24-hour long youtube video on repeat to keep the speakers from falling asleep. But I AM NOT DOING THAT! complicated workarounds aren't a good fix for bad products. It is sad to see this quality from Logitech honestly. Could fix 2 birds with one stone if the puck was rechargeable via USB, which was then plugged into the computer, which was then integrated into the Ghub software, which you were then able to control settings. Boom! don't need to worry about the puck battery and can just recharge. Puck won't have to go to sleep anymore. Can give deeper settings for users such as increasing or decreasing certain speaker volumes, ranges, or even the infamous speaker sleep settings. If you've made it this far look elsewhere for better speakers and thank you for taking the time to read this rant/review. Take care.
