Hayward SPX1082CA Basket Assembly Replacement for Select Hayward Automatic Skimmers

This basket is a perfect fit and works well. Unfortunately the base is not weighted. The vendor did not claim it was weighted. It was my bad assumption that the weight was not necessary. When the pump is not running the basket will float up and out of position. When the pump turns on again the basket is sideways and does not work. Solution is to keep a rock or some other weight in the basket to prevent it from floating. Bottom line: Buy the basket with a weight - not this one.

Good replacement for the baskets that came with my skimmers. Don't care for the handle so I replace with one that mounts to the bottom of the basket.

These are the exact replacements I needed for my pool. The handle cracked on my old ones and they turned a dingy off white color. One also had a crack in the side. These ones arrived all bright and crisp white. The slipped right into the swimmers and we're the right size for a perfect fit. They have just enough weight to sink comfortably into the skimmer with no gaps around the edges for debris to slip through. They're super easy to install by removing the skimmer cover and dropping them in. I suspect they'll last a long time.

My impatient significant other broke my original hayward skimmer basket by tugging on the handle while the filter was on and the basket was full. Luckily Amazon came through and had this replacement basket ready to ship. The basket is official Hayward product that came in factory package. We received the white basket as advertised. It is a perfect replacement for our original skimmer basket, and after a month or two of use we haven't experienced any issues. As shown in the pictures, we use skimmer socks with the basket to pick up the fine particles. Currently, we have construction in progress directly next to the pool, so sawdust and other particles are constantly getting in the pool. Even with the socks, we have not experienced any issues with the pump suction or pressure. As a note, my pool uses a cartridge filter and this skimmer basket and sock combo reduces my need to clean/replace the filter.

I was very happy to find these baskets for a reasonable price. My local pool stores were charging far too much for them. They fit my skimmers just like the previous ones did. As far as replacement parts go, you can't beat these. My disappointment lies not with the product or seller, which are perfect, but with pool technology. These are the exact same baskets that were in my pool 20 years ago. The handles will eventually break (they already pop off too easily) and the basket will eventually become brittle and break apart. They also occasionally float in the skimmer. In 20+ years we haven't been able to come up with a better replacement basket for these skimmers? Is there another product that I should have purchased instead? Because I looked everywhere and couldnt find something that would fit and get the job done but also address the issues I list here. Rant over.

I bought two of these Hayward Skimmer Baskets (at separate times) to replace 10 year old baskets for our pool. I priced these at our local pool store and saw that they were at least $6-7 more expensive per unit. I purchased them from Amazon instead and they are a perfect fit and work well. My only gripe is with the shipping. Each unit ships in a plastic bag within a typical, large Amazon box. Unfortunately, the box is a bit too large and the basket jostles around a bit too much. Unfortunately, one of the basket's handle broke, but I just pulled one off an old basket and the problem was solved. Pool is nice and clean, regardless.
