The only one I can find that is both water soluble and tinning.
The only one I can find that is both water soluble and tinning. The former being important because I don't want the pipes corroding and I don't really want flux in my drinking water, and the latter being important because I'm a DIYer who sweats pipes occasionally, not a professional plumber who does it everyday-- the solder powder incorporated into the flux helps me tell when I have the right temperature because I can see it start to melt and should contribute to a leak-free joint.

First DIY Water Heater
Could not afford $3800 to replace my 13 Y/O 50 gallon natural gas water heater so I told both plumbers to pack sand I’ll do it myself using You Tube. Got a new tank for $749, bought the copper fittings, torch and gas and everything else for soldering. Job came out fine, and no leaks. Tinning flux was suggested by a You Tuber.

Performs perfect
This flux works great WITH propper pre heat prep. Emery cloth or scotch brite the tubing AND the mating surface of the fitting, coat both cleaned areas semi generously, assemble and having non lead solder ready heat coupling.apply the solder to the seam on the away side of the gentle flame so as not the directly melt the solder. Apply the solder around the entire circumferance of the joint evenly. Do NOT allow water to seep into the joint or all is lost and its... start over.

It’s tinning solder…
Works as advertised. No issues whatsoever.
