The Mistress of Spices

One of my favorite romance movies, I decided to finally add it to my collection. My order arrived in a timely manner and even though it's used, there were no scratches or wear on the disk. Practically brand new! Lastly, I tested it in my DVD player and it started without any issues or skipping. Looking forward to watching it many times 😊

Dylan McDermott was young and handsome. She was gorgeous. A sweet love story.

It's a good movie. A woman comes from India who's part of a sect to help people using spices, but she's not supposed to get involved with other people, touch another's skin or leave the store or there would be consequences. She breaks ever rule she's taught. The dvd was in good condition and was delivered quickly.

Love and Friendship, and of courses the spices of which you do learn about them. Love this movie.

In the tradition of morality tales and fables, this movie is a great story about doing the right thing.The movie is a mixture of Bollywood and Hollywood; it is the story of a woman from India who haslocated herself in San Francisco. She uses spices to assist people to realize their hopes, dreams, anddesires. In this movie, the spices themselves are another character in this movie. When DylanMcDermott's character gets hurt, the mistress of spices must choose beyond what she has always known.The love story is cute, but secondary to the lessons imparted by the spices. This is a great moviefor women from traditional backgrounds to have illustrated for them the sorrows AND joys of movingbeyond traditions; not forsaking traditions but enlarging the paradigm in which traditions exist.Both old and new ideas have value, and as human beings women must learn how to mix the old and thenew in a balanced way that allows growth without sacrificing the foundations of one's life.I think this is a positive fable that empowers women without belittling men. I loved this movie.

Came across this by sheer accident and I'm very grateful for it."Mistress of Spices" is a nice cross between "Bell, Book, & Candle" and "Like Water for Chocolate", with a dash of "Practical Magic". The rules are the same the Heroine maintains her powers and influence over the lives of others though selflessness and the manipulation of food stuffs. However to fall in love will result in negative consequences.Arguably the main character of the movie is the Spice Bazaar itself. The set is lush in color and design, it is so remarkable that while watching the movie you might feel as though you are standing right in the middle of it and will begin to imagine the scent of all the combined spices.Aishwarya Rai's natural radiance gives Tilo a gentle warmth that conveys a concern for others with very little effort and it's nice to see Dylan McDermott return to playing a handsome romantic lead who combines sensuality with respect. The two leads are charming, classy and beautiful, the story is stimulating and dreamy in quality compared to so many other romance movies which leave nothing to the imagination.For a soothing and vibrant viewing experince, a bit of romance, and a touch of class with a satisfying ending. This movie is highly recommended - especially for repeat viewings, the Spice Bazaar is a pleasant place to visit.

I find this film very informative about the Hindu culture. This movie relaxes me well when I watch it. The lead actress is talented and insightful about her roll in the movie.
