Great Concept if Sized Right, But Cheap Material
My border collie is 7 and 1/2 years old and is showing no signs of slowing down. As the caretaker of an extremely high energy breed of dog, I am always on the lookout for new and creative ways to maintain his physical and mental health, as well as his overall wellbeing. This vest had a number of features I was looking for, the primary feature being the ability to safely add weights to my dogs work out.On a side note, weights can increase your dog's chances of joint or muscle injury if used improperly. Do your research before trying to add weights to your dog's exercise routine. Not doing so could end up with you accidentally causing unnecessary pain, suffering or injury to your best friend. The purpose of using these sorts of products is to enhance THEIR quality of life, not to simply make YOUR life easier. This product is quite unique. Unfortunately, the material is kind of cheap. When sized properly, as mine was, the product performs as advertised. It does not shift around and my dog appears to be comfortable while wearing it. However, I accidentally ripped the Velcro strap while trying to pull the vest tight and away from his body as I was putting it on. I was doing this because my dog has long fur and it can be difficult to zip something up on a long haired dog without snagging their fur. As a result, the very cheap material that the Velcro strap is made of ended up ripping, and quite easily. Because this was primarily my fault and the Velcro strap does not seem critical to the function of the vest, I didn't go through the trouble of trying to return it. It was just very disappointing. I also at one point got the zipper snagged and thought I would have to rip the vest to get it off my dog. Fortunately, I was able to get it free. A snag free zipper would have been nice. At one point, I remember looking at the material and thinking, "This looks kinda cheap". For "fitness" equipment, I think it's reasonable to expect a little more durability. The "weights" are simply cheap, black, plastic sealed bags filled with some sort of sand, but they do serve their purpose. One could easily make their own weights based on this concept, however, and for way less money. I most likely will end up making my own weights if if I end up needing replacement weights. The vest is somewhat expensive. The high price could be based upon the fact that it's a unique product but it's definitely not due to the fact that it's of an extremely high quality. If it was of better craftsmanship and they had a better zipper and a better way for owners of long haired dogs to put it on without snagging fur, I would enthusiastically recommend it.2 stars for overall quality, 3 stars for overall value and 5 stars for overall concept.

... this three stars because while I felt that the best was well made
I have this three stars because while I felt that the best was well made, none of the sizes fit my dog. He is 85lbs and a pit bull x lab-boxer mix. It just didn't fit around his chest, which I guess was too deep. I tried the large and the extra large and neither fit him. Maybe if he was less "girthy," the vests would have fit him.

Fit well
Medium was good for our 30lb pound dog. Fit nice and snug. 2 weight bags were on either side of shoulders. Def would wear out a dog. Our intended dog was adopted so I returned this but fit was nice.

LOVE everything about this vest
I was worried it wouldn't be sufficient work out for my 60# dog. I heard you could work up to and buy heavier weights so I went for it. LOVE everything about this vest...and my dog still isn't ready for the heavier weights. It's totally a harder workout for her than I had guessed.
