Q: What's the back width of the 27" model?

It is 21 inches across the back and 16-17 inches across the front. And only 12 inches deep. It actually has a very small usable area due to the way the legs are angled out at 45 degress. The 27 inch size is very deceiving and does not represent how large the grate area itself is.

Q: What are the actual dimensions of the 30 inch grate. No BS please. Only answer if you know!

Front foot 30" wide, back foot 27.5".grate front to back 15".this is the widest/deepest points. Hope this helps. I think this is how the mfg should measure so you know how to fit in the box.

The one I bought is - Widest part in front bottom of legs is 18" top grate bars in front is 14" . In the back the widest part of the legs are at 17" and the upper grate is at 12" I'm not sure which one your looking at but this is the one I bought. This is the most attractive sturdy grate I have ever owned. It is big and will hold a lot of wood. Good luck !
