Original Album Classics

Isley Gold
The Isley Brothers, like many of my music heroes - Steely Dan, Bowie, Stevie Wonder, Roxy Music, Jackson Browne etc. etc. - were on an amazingly hot streak in the '70s. In that golden decade an album a year was the norm rather than the exception. These 5 albums date from '69 to '73, with 3+3, the last of them, being where the group really took off. Givin' it Back was their cover versions album - Neil Young, Dylan, James Taylor - all sounding very different from the originals but it's definitely the Isleys. The rest of the albums are pretty much originals and all are well worth a listen.I find these "Original Album Classics" box sets amazingly good value. Even converted to Euro they're stll only about 15 so for 5 albums... work it out. The presentation is simple, and described elsewhere by other reviewers, but check the small print on the back and you'll find a site where you can get album credits. Other ones I've bought like George Benson and Earth, Wind & Fire have numerous bonus tracks so the only problem is you're suddenly presented with a huge amount of music (if only all life's problem were that good) but I can live with that.
