Q: Does this require a corded connection?

It requires a regular phone landline connection cord, yes. If I recall correctly it comes with the phone cord and also an electrical plug-in cord.

Q: Can this be used on the same phone line with other telephones at the same time?

It takes a modem of its own, installed by your cable guy. I don’t think so. You can also hear voice on it. Not impressed. The interpreter missed a lot. Too slow to list menu options when calling businesses. Doesnt get medical terms. In depends on your needs

Very simple. Like a phone. Plug it to the wall and telephone jack. Then program it using the buttons.
