How does it dry? Do you let the clay sit? Or do you put it in the oven?

It will not harden if it's left out, you have to put it in the oven. We use our small toaster oven and set it to 450 degrees.

Does it come with the mat shown in the pictures to cut, shape, etc. the clay? If so, what is it made of and does it roll up?

Mine did not come with a mat for the clay, but you could buy those separate. They come two in a pack . One side is sticky that sticks to your table, , and the other side you can roll the clay out and it works great. can you just put the two sticky sides together a roll it up and I put mine up in parchment paper. The clay is easy to work with. The mold doesn’t work that well the clay sticks to it really bad. Hope this helps you out a little bit. Other than that the tools are great. Some of them are little bit sharp. So watch fingers.
