Great Product But... edited again 2022 august
* IF YOU INSTALL A FIRE STICK INTO ONE OF THE HMDI SOCKETS IT WILL WORK WITH DOLBY ATMOS *We researched the product and purchased in March 21, the sound is a function of Sound Bar Positioning, Woofer positioning connection type.1. Playfi connection to Spotify excellent and excellent sound2 Connection to 3/4th Generation Alexa and Spotify Playfi (to date cant work)3. Connects if amazon music is used (go figure)4. Connects to alexa via BT (excellent)Sound from your tv is tricky it works with all outputs LG 2019 OLED1 BT lags2. analogue works but might as well use internal speakers3. Internal and optical output (its ok and you have to use two remotes)4. Hdmi ARC (You must use ARC to get the true benefit ) Awesome yes Awesome with Dobly Atmos its really Awesome.we purchased the speakers to create surround sound and YEAR later and several firmware upgrades the wireless speakers frequently drop the sound when the soundbar enters standby. The solution is two smartplugs, I recycle the soundbar via alexa and reset the connect between the speakers. I only really want the surround speakers to work when watching films that have surround sound so its a fixI hope this explains some of the wide views posted to date

Perfect but hard to setup!
Design is great, and sound is crisp and top notch quality, once you set it up, that is (three apps installed and countless micro-setups later)! So, its certainly not for someone who has more basic knowledge around these things! Im lucky I dont have issues with it!;) If you do have time and are willing to invest extra effort though, you wont be dissapointed!

Top notch, not sure what the other reviewers are doing wrong
Some of the previous reviews have been total opposites of each other, but after setting this up and having considerable experience with other surround sound systems, I can only assume people have received faulty goods or have not read the instruction manuals properly. Ill address some of the issues others have mentioned;- Issues with Play-Fi and other software problems - You must download both the PS Fine Tune app and Philips Sound app when setting this up, as there are 2 firmware and 1 software updates mine found, which I installed before properly using this, which has probably resolve a lot of the aforementioned issues.- The digital read-out display - You can very easily switch this off by pressing the Settings cog on the remote and toggling it. All that's left if a faint amber light to dictate that the system is powered on.I- The PS Tune app DOES give you more or less infinite control of EQs, from basic bass and treble, to a 6-way EQ adjustment. You can even adjust the power fo the Subwoofer from here, but there is a separate rocker switch for this on the remote next to the master volume.Other than this, I think this is an amazing value. It feels well made in typical Philips fashion, the sound quality is stunning, and Dolby Atmos goes a long way to throw the sound around the room. Its just a really good companion for any television. I can't speak for any of the google/android services, but if you are an iPhone user / Apple household, this works seamlessly with everything regarding Airplay.

Amazing sound nice style
Good soundbar. Thumping bass which can be overpowering at times. You can adjust this on the app. Good for movies. Has airplay 2 and Spotify but the music quality isn’t hi fidelity so be aware of this. For movies and tv it’s very good. Ensure the soundbar isn’t too far from the sub as the connection drops at times if this is blocked

Sound fine. Controls - a nightmare - UPDATED Jan 2025
UPDATE Jan 2025 - Still no response from Philips after they escalated the sound issue. The random not-responding issue and switching stuff off issue is becoming annoying. Downgraded to one star because I completely regret this purchase - even with the discount!Picked this up in a Black Friday sale with a significant reduction. Excellent sound quality when working properly. Physical connectivity is fine but actually setting up preferences and getting it to work with other devices is troublesome.Connectivity and updating via phone requires two(!) apps which do not have nice interfaces.Soundbar is connected to Amazon Fire Omni QLED 55 via eArc using a new high spec HDMI cable. Switches seemlessly between Atmos, Surround and PCM as required.However... Since connecting, we now find the sky q box will sometimes not work (blank screen) when switching to that input and thus prompting a system reboot. When switching on or off TV/sky we will find if we don't get the ordering of the button pressing right then the soundbar remote will no longer control the soundbar, or we get no sound at all, or the soundbar will keep going into standby. We frequently have to reset stuff and guess at what to switch on first to get full functionality across the three connected devices - none of these problems existed with our old soundbar (an old Sony 2.1 system that wasn't 4k and was only ARC rather than eARC).Another issue - subwoofer on Dolby Atmos or Dolby Surround has an annoying static/whine background noise - can be drowned out if soundbar is loud enough but if you live somewhere where you need to keep the soundbar low then this may bother you - Philips support are currently investigating this for me.Overall we like the sound but hate the connectivity issues. Had this been bought full price then I would have given one star (and returned for a refund). As it is we will persevere but my next soundbar won't be Philips (hence two stars).
