It just works! Exactly the right size for my 3.5” SATA drives. Easy to swap drives out for backup.

I am using this enclosure with a 28TB Seagate Exos SATA HDD. No issues with the capacity, I set up the drive using Minitool Partition Wizard as GPT, NTFS, a single 28TB partition, used with a Windows 11 PC. Installation was easy. The case opens by pressing the large button, the drive inserts easily and the provided screws and screwdriver keep it secure. Note: this button serves as the power and activity light. The actual power is a switch on the back.SMART data is accessible via CrystalDiskInfo. Seagate's Seatools will not detect the drive in this enclosure. Therefore the disclaimer in the product description that SMART is not supported is partially true. It depends on the application trying to access the data.I am using the 28TB drive for backups. It is not intended to run 24 / 7. The temperature on the drive after several hours use is 53C. This is within spec for the drive which maxes at 60C. For comparison, a 10TB Lacie D2 Professional, a 16TB Lacie D2 Professional and an 18TB Iron Wolf in a similar enclosure from another vendor are all also hitting 53C after hours of use. Therefore, the heat dissipation is no better or worse than these fanless alternatives.Overall the performance is fine after two weeks of use.Given the price of a new Lacie D2 Professional and the design of the various plastic housing external drives, this enclosure is well suited to a bring your own drive situation.

I changed my satellite service and had a 3.5 4TB SATA Western Digital that was non-compatible with the new receiver. I decided to change it to a USB Drive. I purchased the Sabrent enclosure. It's solid metal made and simple to assemble. The instructons are quite detailed, but small to read. I photo copied and enlarged them. I used disk management to finalze the disk. It's quiet. The LED serves to indicate that the disk is writing and functional. I then created a backup of the computer files and a Window Image. I have 151 GB stored on the disk. The second disk was a 250 Gbyte Seagate. It was made operable and after reassembly, was installed as an exterior drive for a DVR. An excellent tool for converting disks and resolving problems.

This is a valuable tool to test drives and retreive data from uninstalled internal pc drives. Works with 3-1/2" and 2-1/2" spinning hard drives and 2-1/2" SSD's. Effortless to use. Connects with USB cable.

Always a good choice

About as small as can be and hold a 3.5in drive, full speed with a WD Red Pro 18tb (280MB/s) and around 45C while doing surface scan.Would have preferred there was more airflow, but it is perfectly safe to use. Same with feet on the bottom, but that's cheap to add after. A little fiddly to get a 3.5in drive out, but if you're looking to swap more then probably better to use another type of enclosure. This is more for turning your drive into a mobile fixed disk.Nice drive enclosure!

I paid $26.09 for the SABRENT USB 3.0 Tool Free Enclosure and paired it with a new Western Digital Black 8TB drive. The sturdy enclosure seems to be of a high fit and finish, and installing a 3.5" drive was super easy. You don't need tools to open the case, but it does come with all of the cables, screws, and even a mini screwdriver necessary to get started. I used four of the included drive screws to firmly secure the drive to the bottom tray of the enclosure, though this probably isn't required. There is no internal padding or protection against shocks or falls, but I'm not planning to drop it.It was connected to my desktop computer and formatting the new drive within minutes of being delivered. Doing a full format of the new drive, it got very warm, but not dangerously so. But don't think the little air holes in the ends are going to do anything in terms of heat dissipation.The transfer speeds are not great, which could be due to a number of factors (antivirus software, system conflicts, malware eating up system resources, background processes, etc.). The product listing says: "Transfer speed of up to 625 MB/s with USB 3.0." Pulling from a WD Black storage drive on a nine-year-old Dell XPS desktop to a new WD Black installed in the SABRENT enclosure, I only managed about 35 MB/s on USB 3.0. In my case, time is not a factor. I'm happy to let it spin for a day while I go about my business. If speed is your primary motivation, you might want to shop around.UPDATE: the drive locked up on me three times during the initial transfer. I have had several other brands, and never experienced hang-ups or freezes like this. It wasn't going to work for me. I submitted a request to return it. Would definitely NOT buy again.

Agréablement surpris par la qualité de l'article. Ayant tester plusieurs boitiers hhd externe, celui-ci est vraiment de qualité supérieure et est très bien conçu. Possibilité de visser son disque dur au boitier et bien sûr le bouton de fermeture du boitier qui a fait que j'ai acheté cet article.Chargeur de qualité, idem pour les cables, support plastique dans un boitier aluminium (excellent contre l'électricté statique et le refroidissement).Reçu 2 jours après ma commande.Que du bon pour cet article, merci.

Das Produkt ist sehr leicht und lässt sich gut transportieren. Die neue 22 TB WD Red Pro Sata Festplatte brauchte nur initialisiert werden und war dann sofort einsatzbereit. Die Daten wurden mit einer Durchschnittsgeschwindigkeit von 100 MB/s geschrieben, zu hören war dabei gar nichts, absolut laufruhig und leise. Das Gehäuse macht einen guten Eindruck, die Festplatte passt haargenau hinein und hat null Spiel. Ich habe 3 TB über Nacht übertragen, dürfte um die 8 Stunden gedauert haben. Zur Haltbarkeit kann ich noch nichts sagen, es war der erste Einsatz. Klare Kaufempfehlung und 5 Sterne.

No es necesario gastar más dinero.El disco va atornillado en una estructura plástica con ciertas holguras a su alrededor. Esta estructura va dentro de la caja de aluminio, quedando 1 mm de aire entre el disco y la carcasa.Lleva toma USB B 3.0 en el lado de la caja y USB A 3.0 en el lado del PC. Una clavija de alimentación estándar de 12V 2A para poder alimentar discos mecánicos de 7200 rpm de hasta 22 TB. Incluye un interruptor de corriente.La carcasa de aluminio se calienta muchísimo, lo cual es normal porque estos discos consumen lo suyo y necesitan disipar el calor, aunque según el fabricante consuman solo 6W en reposo y 7,5 W en funcionamiento. (Este dato parece increíble, cuando todas las cajas y discos van acompañados de fuentes de alimentación de al menos 24W y producen temperaturas altísimas).En el botón para desbloquear la apertura de la caja se incluye una luz led muy molesta por su elevada potencia y continuo centelleo. Está bien algo que indique el funcionamiento, pero debería ser más tenue y poder apagarse.Lo puedo recomendar para discos mecánicos por el precio, incluso para algunos SSD hasta 600 MB/sg. Sin embargo, las conexiones deberían ser USB C 3.2 y admitir trasferencias de 10 GBps. E incluir alguna rejilla que facilite la dispación de calor. La caja es algo ruidosa, pero eso ya lo sabe todo el mundo que use discos duros CMR grandes a 7200 rpm como los usados en NAS y centros de datos.Recomiendo rejilla de ventilación como las usadas en cocina para enfriar bizcochos. Si se coloca la carcasa encima se facilita la ventilación y se evita que se caliente mucho el mueble, con el riesgo de incendio que esto conlleva por las temperaturas que adquieren los discos duros.Le pongo 5 estrellas, pero admite mejoras: Todo metálico, usb c 3.2 de 10 gbps, almohadillas que mitiguen el ruido, poder apagar el led luminoso, patas de goma para no calentar los muebles donde se coloca...Amazon muy bien. Me ha llegado en el mismo día en que hice el pedido.Lo peor, el alimentador eléctrico. No está fabricado para Europa, sino que viene con adaptador.
