Does it come with cover

Just an ordinary plastic protection and you have to slide into it. Some people may throw the cover because it is just a normal wrap around it. You will get this product cheaper at Bi-Mart.

Yes, this does come with a protective cover, And it grates very fine lemon zest. I am very happy with mine & I cook a lot!

Does this Artisan fine grater grate finer or the same as the Microplane classic grater (the longer, narrower one)?

It's about the same. The holes on this one are slightly smaller than on the classic zester grater. You'll get approx the same results.

Do the handles come off. The set i have, have rubberized handles that come off. They get really dirty.

That's strange. The handle is not supposed to come off. Mine works fine and they don't come off.
