New Balance Men's 574 Soes
I have several pair of New Balance shoes that I wear when running. When I saw the 574 line, I thought that the shoes would be great to wear to work. When I got the shoes, I was a little surprised that the back of the shoes were reflective, but otherwise the shoes were exactly what I expected. They are typically comfortable for NB shoes. I stepped right in and had no issues. I would have liked them better without the reflective surfaces and the big "N" on the side (after all, I am wearing them to work), but I do like them and will be wearing the to work. I typically put in a lot of walking time at work, so I have to have comfortable shoes and I really cannot get away with the typical sneaker look. So these shoes should work well for me.

New Balance Makes Durable Shoes
I have tried many shoes during my lifetime but I keep coming back to New Balance for comfort, functionality, and durability. These ML574's are another in a long line of quality athletic shoes. I like the comfort. There are no "hot spots" in the shoe, and they feel very comfortable when I walk or run. The shoe is made of durable materials. The leather side panels and toe guard give protection and support to the foot, and the toe strap prevents the big toe from coming through the top of the shoe (a faulty design seen in many running shoes). The tread is not excess, so the shoe has functional comfort. My last pair went for 7 years before having to be replaced, and I expect these will do the same. I will purchase another pair of these now because I like them so much! Kone

No matter what a seller tells you, make sure to order one size larger.
I've been wearing New Balance shoes since my fist pair of 990's in 1980. I've always loved them for their comfort and durability. After buying a new pair, I keep the old pair for doing yard work and other dirty tasks while wearing the new pair for other times. That way, I usually get about 4 years worth of use out of them before the soles wear out. I've had this current pair for about six months now. When I got this pair, I was surprised at the design of the soles. The tread pattern doesn't look like the tread on any New Balance I've ever owned before. Nevertheless, they are every bit as comfortable as other pairs I've owned in the past. They're a good value for the money.

cheaper made shoe -- made in Indonesia
I bought these shoes as a Christmas present for someone. First off - the package itself delivered late -- in 5 days instead of 2 days (I'm an Amazon Prime member.) I'm assuming it was due to heavy shipping during the holiday season, but I don't know.Upon arrival and inspection - the insoles were not in place. They were coming up from inside both shoes. Despite the insoles not being in place - one shoe fit fine, but the other shoe fit very tightly. In trying to determine why the quality of these shoes may have been less than desirable - it was discovered that these were "made in Indonesia." My understanding is that most New Balance shoes are made in USA, which has a better quality. I do remember other people's comments about New Balance shoes notating to be on the lookout for "made in Indonesia" shoes, but the Amazon description didn't notate where these shoes were made at all, so I thought it would be fine. The gift receipient decided to keep these shoes....mainly not to deal with the hassle of having to ship them back. The recipient does like the shoes.

I also like the mid-sole as it has the old - late ...
I Have a high archw/a long skinny heel and nearly all running shoes arch support actually starts under the forward portion of my heel, rather uncomfortable to say the least. This shoe does not do that. It appears to be narrower thru the heel and the arch which works w/my foot. I also like the mid-sole as it has the old - late 70's-early mid 80's solid, stable almost bouncy cushion that holds up until the shoe has really worn out , uppers and all. They are not marshmellos w/ laces. I have 2 prs. It is a shame that the modern running shoe industry has forgotten how to build a shoe that is for real long, slow distance running instead of all the fashion marshmellos that cost $100 plus and are shot after 400-500 miles.

I like this shoe, but width is a bit small...
This shoe is good looking, and seems pretty sturdy. I've been a fan of New Balance for years, but the shoes made in China seem to fall apart more quickly then others. This one was made Vietnam, and it is more sturdy than the Chinese ones. The only issue I had was that they were not as wide as other 2e. I've read that New Balance has width issues, and in this case it was a little narrow for me. They might stretch out, so I just kept them. Other than that, I like the style, I like the colors, and I get compliments on them more often then I expected. All in all, this is a good shoe.

Fit is a bit narrow
I buy New Balance shoes because they're one of the few manufacturers that provide widths. Typically, a EE is wide enough for my feet, but this particular shoe seems to size a bit narrower than others. I don't blame NB or the seller, as I could have done a bit more research (or maybe tried to find one to try on first) - I knew the risks when I purchased. But hopefully this review will help somebody else who may be on the fence. Look for one of the other models that has a different cut.I should also say that the shoe is stretching out, so I expect it to eventually fit comfortably. But it's a slow process :-/

Grear shoe
I have an older pair of 574s that I love and have kept up very well. They are the best fitting most comfortable shoe I've ever had. So I hoped with this new pair it'd be the same but they are definitely a bit tight out of the box. I'm hopeful after wearing for a while they'll break in and fit like the others.Overall I'm still pleased with the shoe.

Comfortable trainers with a snug fit
Comfortable trainers with a snug fit. Probably mentioned elsewhere but the extra .5 of the UK size is recommended when ordering NB trainers. They are good quality and the insole fits my feet well. I do not use the two lace loops nearest the foot hole and with them being already laced up this adds to the value. I used to wear Adidas trainers but find these up the comfort level substantially. My second pair of 574 trainers, first pair made in the UK, these in Indonesia.

Nice shoes, quite narrow.
Love the NBs look but fit slightly small and very narrow for me. Don't know if they do a 2e size but if you've slightly wider feet would recommend.

Slightly small fit (between a half and full size) but great classic look
Really nice lightweight trainers that seem to cope well with my wide forefoot, however I had to size up. I'm between an 8.5 and a 9, usually getting away with a 9 to accommodate my wide forefoot, however in New Balance that jumps to a 9.5.
