This dual light high power microscope has both incident and transmitted LED light sources that allow for both the viewing of opaque objects lit from above and the viewing of translucent specimens lit from below. Designed for students to learn science for years of continued observations, it has full optical glass elements, metal framework, two eyepieces (10X and 25X), 360 degree rotatable monocular head, and coarse & fine focusing. The microscope offers five magnification settings, 40X, 100X, 250X, 400X, and 1000X. The light sources use either an outlet (adapter included) or three AA batteries (included). This microscope is perfect for academics in home school for students in elementary to high school. It comes with two 10-piece slide kits, each with five biological specimens and five blank slides -- great for an introduction to using microscopes. And when it's time to prepare your own slides, there is a pack of 50 blank slide with 100 cover slips, red and blue specimen stains, and a slew of tools. To make things even better, we've included the book "The World of the Microscope" as an introduction to microscopy. High quality, Sturdy
My 7 year old wanted a microscope. The price tag was slightly high but I wanted to make sure that her first experience with one would be enjoyable and shocking. This is extremely important in sparking science interest with children. I am SO GLAD we went ahead with this combo. The device is sturdy and easy to use, the slide are glass, and the ease of focus is incredible. You can CLEARLY see the samples...even she can focus it within a few quick seconds. If you are trying to spark your kids' interest, go with this. It is quality!

Does everything I need and for a great price.
This is the best microscope for this value in my opinion. It is very easy to use and focus, has bottom and top lights. I can look at grains of sand or see the individual blood cells in a drop of blood from a cut moving. Comes with a bunch of extra slides and few slides with cool things to look at. We have had a lot of fun with the kids thinking of different things to look at and it can do it all.

Excellent microscope for kids and students!
The microscope has clear sharp scratch-free lens. Dual light source allows for viewing slides and larger opaque objects like coins. This was a birthday gift for my 7yr old niece. She loves looking at both slides and objects! I personally think the stage does not go down far enough to see opaque objects. It is much better suited to smaller things like slides of cells. However you would have to buy 2 microscopes otherwise. For my niece this is a great starter microscope offering both options. The book offers a lot of suggestions of things to see. The kit has everything you need to see or make your own slides. This is an incredibly affordable and comprehensive microscope kit that will serve my niece well into high school.

Great microscope, despite underwhelming packaging and no instructions
Great value kit for the money. Note - comes in plain cardboard box, we taped a picture on the front in order to gift it. Also doesn’t include instructions; you’re supposed to be able to print from manufacturers website but was unable to. They did provide via email but they are poorly written and don’t explain a lot. You’ll have to google basics of how to use a microscope, and more importantly how to properly prepare slides. Finally, doesn’t include a case for microscope and all the accessories. Overall though, great inexpensive kit for kids and teens.

Prob Amazing but NO manual
This looks like it is going to be amazing... very sturdy. I also love the built in handle. However. I have given it less stars because there is NO instruction manual!!! It has been a long time since science class for me and we are struggling with how to use it even with the Usborne book. Did anyone else’s come with a manual? Help!
