Best French Press Coffee Maker with Unique Filter System and Bonus - Brewing the Most Delicious Drink -- 1 Liter, 34 Ounce, 8 Cups/4 Mugs -- 2mm Thick Glass Carafe

First of all, this is the first review that I have written in a few years, I rarely write reviews. The fact that I am reviewing this Markus Reichenberger French Press is significant. I spent a lot of time reading reviews and looking at french press systems before buying this one. I am a coffee aficionado and have used every coffee-making system during the many years that I have been drinking coffee. This is an expert review from somebody with a HUGE amount of experience on the subject.I gave this Markus Reichenberger French Press 5 stars for a number of reasons.1. THICK GLASSI have never personally broken a french press by pushing the plunger down too hard and fast but I know many people that have done that. Dry coffee ground will bind the plunger and that can break the glass. The way to avoid breaking the glass is to WAIT a few minutes until the dry coffee grounds have FULLY absorbed the hot water, then SLOWLY push down.In my search for a french press I was only considering glass carafes with THICK glass as a precaution against breakage. The Markus Reichenberger French Press has 2 MM thick glass. I have heard that stainless steel carafes are good and will not break. But that there is a possibility of very fine steel grounds getting into the coffee as a result of the metal plunger rubbing against the steel sides of the carafe. I don't know if that is true or not but I decided to go with thick glass instead of stainless steel.2. WIDE, FLAT BASEMost french presses have a thin wire-frame stand with four small feet. The four small feet of the wireframe stand are not always stable. It is possible to begin to push down the plunger on those wire-frame stands and have the French Press slip sideways on a slick counter-top. I have even bent the metal feet and ended up with a bent metal stand.3. 34 OUNCESMy personal suggestion is to go for the larger size. If you only want one cup, put less coffee and water into the 34 ounce size. If you have visitors, it's difficult to make multiple cups of coffee from a very small carafe. Also, keep in mind, when the water soaks into the coffee grounds, the grounds will stay in the carafe, so you get a few ounces less coffee than the water that you put into the carafe to begin with. If you go for a smaller size, you are limited in the amount of coffee that you can make and will only save yourself a dollar or two on the price. It's not worth the inconvenience of having a small french press.4. PRICEI try to be a smart shopper when making a purchase. The price of the Markus Reichenberger French Press is reasonable and competitive.5. GOOD FILTERThis is important. Many french press coffee systems allow coffee ground to slip through the filter. The Markus Reichenberger French Press has a very fine filter. It is normal for french press coffee to leave grounds at the bottom of the cup. Since I have stopped using my old french press and started using this one I have found that there are no heavy coffee grounds at the bottom of my cup, just a very fine silt which is much less than most french press systems.6. VISUALLY APPEALINGIf given a choice between "Form vs Functionality" I'll choose functionality every time. I would prefer a product that works well over one that looks cool. The Markus Reichenberger French Press works well but also looks REALLY cool. People notice it when they walk into my kitchen because its different than the more traditional-looking french presses.

This is a sturdy, functional and beautiful press. Am SO happy with this purchase - it looks great and cleans up super easy - so far it looks brand new = love it! You will too!

It is not a 8 cup one...........I can get 2 cups at most, I mean regular smaller coffee cups not the big ones, I do love how it makes the 2 that I do get, it works perfect and coffee is wonderful.......but it is not 8 cups unless you mean tiny winny little cups...........

If I could give this MarkusR French Press a higher star rating I would most certainly. When I opted in on purchasing this press I was actually thinking of my son or my daughter. They love to drink several cups of tea and coffee at a time. I have my single "diffuser" and a bombilla straw. So, when I had the opportuniy to receive this product at a discount for review for my honest and unbiased opinion, I thought why not give it a try.To be honest, I didn't get too excited waiting for it to come in the mail ; I recieved it within 2 days. I had family Medical issues and couldn't use it right away. I did take it out of the box and the bubble packaging to make sure it arrived in good shape. I thought it was absolutely Beautiful. Still, I was overwhelmed with family Medical issues so it was several days later before I could use it to make coffee. But, oh boy when I used this French Press I was extremely impressed. It says to not use finely ground coffee so I used coarse ground. I like strong coffee so I used several scoops to a few cups of boiling water. I let it set for a few minutes and then pressed down. Such a clever and beautiful thing, I thought, but that doesn't mean I was about to enjoy the results....until I poured the coffee in my cup. ALL SMILES HERE !!! The press actually kept the coffee grounds pressed and strained with its stainless steel mesh and press. My coffee was full bodied strong and had no grounds. It tasted delicious. I poured cream in cup and stirred so you can see no grinds ;) . I WILL BE KEEPING THIS PRESS. Sorry Children of mine . I will, however, let them enjoy tea and coffee with me as this holds 8 cups of coffee or tea.The press has a stainless steel lid with a hard black plastic top underneath. The plastic top turns to let you pour or closes up to let coffee or tea steep. The carafe is heat resistant glass that sets down in stainless housing. It is easy to clean. I love this French Press and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves full flavored coffee and tea.
