DC Rebirth was a breath of fresh air for DC fans. After Flashpoint had rebooted the entire DC Universe with the New 52, fans thought they'd never see the old continuity again. But it happened, with the DC Rebirth one-shot issue reincorporating the old DC Universe into the New 52, with a mystery behind the whole initiative. Written by Geoff Johns, one of DC's most beloved writers, the issue really tells the story of a forgotten hero trying to make his way home; Wally West. A fan favorite character as both the original Kid Flash and later The Flash, this version of the character had been missing for years. The comic is told mostly from his perspective as he traverses the earth visiting his old friends trying to get back. Along the way, new storylines are set up, and the mystery behind the New 52 begins to reveal itself. Four separate artists worked on this issue, Gary Frank, Ethan Van Sciver, and Ivan Reis, and Phil Jimenez. Their work is all good and very similar. I say this, because the first time I read this I didn't notice. This comic is great, showcasing the best the DC Universe has to offer. The actual book is well made as well. Though I don't feel qualified to say this is a must read for DC Comics fans, it's definitely worth considering. 5/5

Wow. What a story; helps if you know characters before hand but is still a solid start. And that twist... Wow!

Produit reçu rapidement, en excellent état, et parfaitement protégé. Tout d'abord, l'édition est magnifique. Pour un si petit récit, on aurait pu penser qu'ils allaient faire quelque chose de basique, mais non ! Pas du tout. Bon, je reste un peu déçu de ne pas avoir reçu la couverture en noir et blanc surmontée du belle jaquette couleur, mais si j'avais lu correctement la description, j'aurais vu qu'il n'y a pas de jaquette. Passons. Concernant l'histoire, je crois que cette histoire a fait un peu l'unanimité. Je l'avais lue en scans à sa sortie, et relue encore une fois depuis. Je l'ai déjà relue deux fois depuis que je l'ai reçu. Le récit et les dessins sont remarquables et réussissent tout ce qu'ils entreprennent avec une précision exemplaire. Un bien bel ouvrage pour relancer univers DC qui ne plaisait plus beaucoup aux fans (New 52). On est à l'opposé total du dernier crossover "blockbuster-popcorn" des New 52 : DARKSEID WAR (que j'avais également apprécié pour son esprit blockbuster explosif comme bouquet final). Non ici, on a l'impression de vraiment retrouver nos personnages avant qu'ils n'aient été changés par le Flashpoint. Pourtant, ce sont exactement les mêmes que dans les New 52, mais l'ambiance du récit et son thème, ses dessins, et sa façon de raconter l'histoire, nous renvoie dans le passé à l'époque des grandes histoires comme par exemple IDENTITY CRISIS, mais avec une touche de modernité et surtout une grosse louche d'émotions.
