Gates 42571 Premium Engine Water Pump

Perfect fit. Let me delete the oil cooler and upper coolant reservoir on my 06 Legacy Gt.

got this for my subaru car. asked a good mechanic friend of mine, what brand of w/p to get he said subaru. i said, gimme an aftermarket solution. he said no use subaru. this is even after he didn't work at subaru anymore. very insistent on oem parts for the subaru. so i gave him 4 choices. i don't remember the others, but gates is what he quickly and without hesitation, went to. ok so, this is just my 2nd subaru w/p replacement and my first one was with an oem unit. the casting on the gates seemed to be a little off in a place or two. the w/p fit perfectly on the block, but the sides of the w/p didn't exactly fit like the original oem part. pump works flawlessly so far. over 1k miles so far and its all good. i'd buy another one.

Works and fit perfectly

Weeping hole started leaking about 50,000-70,000KM after installation, had to go buy a new one from PartSource because I didn't find the leak until my timing belt was off and I was stuck. Thank you, Amazon...

this item was not the correct water pump for my 2004 subaru forester xs . i had to return it

Definitely needed it. Combined the installation with a timing belt change. All the guarding was removed for the belt replacement. It was a "while I'm in ther" install. Car is quieter. Added about an hour to a four hour job for the belt.
