Are these pliable rubber? Some I have seen are more like a soft plastic, which gives them very poor grip

It's a hard rubber. It has good grip. Will last several hours of use. I put it on the bottom of my walking stick.

I think these are universal. I looked at several other poles and I think they would have worked on them as well. I can't answer 100% but I would think so.

What is the inside diameter of the hole at the top of the rubber tip?

Inside diameter is 7/16 inch (11 mm). Fits standard telescoping trekking poles. Has metal washer inside to prevent the pole's carbide tip from wearing through the rubber.
