Is there a difference between using the native bluetooth adaptor on my PC and using the dongle?

I've done a lot of research on this. The short answer is that you will likely have a better experience if you use this USB adapter instead of your laptop's integrated Bluetooth.

The longer answer is that if you use your integrated Bluetooth, you may or may not experience the following issues: Mute button not working with zoom and other meeting services; volume buttons not working properly; audio quality issues. Weather you have these issues or not is dependent on the characteristics of your computer's integrated Bluetooth. I had these issues with both an LG Gram and an Acer Swift 5 running Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Why would using this Bluetooth adapter make a difference? My understanding is that it supports a Bluetooth profile that is optimized for making calls on your computer. That actual reason may be different. Whatever the reason, once I started using this BT dongle with my LG gram and Acer Swift laptops, all the buttons on my Poly V5200 started working with Zoom.

Lost the dongle for my Plantronics Voyager Focus, will this work as a replacement?

Plantronics states that the BT-600 "works with: Voyager 5200 UC Bluetooth Headset System, Voyager 8200 UC Stereo Bluetooth Headset, Voyager 3200 UC Discreet Bluetooth Headset System"; but they don't mention the Plantronics headphones that I am using with the BT-600 (PN: 205250-01).  In short, your chances are *pretty good* that it will work with the Plantronics Voyager Focus, but there are no guarantees that it will.

Before making the purchase on nothing but chance, you might want to contact the customer service or customer support department at Plantronics and put the question to them directly.

I work on my computer many hours each day and have multiple plantronics 5200s. how many can i pair to one of these bt600 adapters?

Hello! In order to pair a Voyager 5200 with a BT600 you'll need to set both units in pairing mode. To do so: Connect the BT600 via USB to your computer, then press and hold the little button on the side until the LED flashes red and blue repeatedly. Afterwords power on your earpiece, then press and hold the call button (located on the back of the microphone, it is a black button) until the indicator light on the earpiece flashes red and blue repeatedly. Will this work if i use a usb dongle with it?  i am trying to extend the range by moving this higher up from my desktop on floor.

If by usb dongle you mean a usb hub, then yes, that's what i do.
