Professor Newton, and elderly Einstein type, discovers whathe believes is a comet. As the comet approaches Newtonrealizes it's a missile on a collision course with Earth!When pieces of the missile are recovered it is found to beconstructed of a crystalline material that producestremendous power. The missile's trajectory is backtrackedto the moon Fornax. The only problem is that the surfacetemperature is thought to be so hot that nothing can livethere. Rocky Jones decides to make a trip and find outfor sure.Rocky Jones, Space Ranger was the first television spaceadventure show shot on film. Some television historiansbelieve Gene Roddenberry partly based the original Star Trekon it. Each Rocky Jones adventure was comprised of threeweekly episodes, the first two ending with a cliff-hanger.Bobby's Comet was the second complete adventure. The showwas on two seasons for a total of thirty-nine weeks.Although made in the early days of TV and with a lowbudget the costumes, sets and special effects arerespectable. The wonderful theme music and scoring byAlexander Lazslo are worth the price. Give this video andtry and I don't think you'll be disappointed.
