eXtremeRate Cherry Pink Console Back Plate DIY Replacement Housing Shell Case for Nintendo Switch Console with Kickstand – JoyCon Shell NOT Included

I love this product. It is nearly perfect. These are so similar structurally to the OEM backplate that they are super easy to install. They look and feel great. The only real issue I had with mine was that the kickstand is a little loose*, but I did not have with the other kit that I purchased so I feel like mine might just be somewhat faulty. The only minor complaints with these is that they don't put the speaker cover and foam pieces on before shipping them and that the game card cover isn't included/preinstalled. I get that these are small, cost saving steps that the customer can do themselves in less than 5 minutes but it just seems silly that they would manufacturer these products so well but not take those few additional steps to make the process easier. Those issues are so minor and subjective that I'm still giving this item a 5 star rating as it's very easy to install with minimal experience. Altogether it may have taken 15 minutes to change my Switch from stock to unique.I contacted eXtremeRate and they sent an entire replacement kit for the problem I had with the kickstand. It arrived very quickly and the kickstand in the replacement kit was perfect. Their customer service is top notch!

Took 10, 15 minutes to install. I've opened electronics before, but not a switch, so if you've never opened anything it might take longer. It looks fantastic, better than the product images. Got mine a few months ago and it's held up, no cracks or chips or anything.

I bought this in 2019 and it was great to install and I loved the look! However, now in 2024 I've had to change it out due to concerning cracking. As I removed the backing I noticed more damage than I could see on the surface which is my second pic showing 2 small pieces that used to be attached to the whole. I had quite a time digging them out of my console. The kickstand is meh, I never needed to use it anyway (I don't know anyone who does lol).My Nintendo Switch is adult owned and I am very gentle with my electronics so it was always in a dock or a hardcase during travel. I'm not sure if 4 years is bad or good for this type of thing, but I thought I'd share my experience. Not recommended for rough players :p

I have a launch switch. Last year, I had to replace the battery because it no longer held a charge. I ordered a replacement and for the first time I had to take my switch apart.I was extremely careful but the protruding top screw hole on the middle of the backplate broke off. It is so tiny and very sensitive to any pressure. No big deal; I can live with that.Now I come to this past Friday excited to play the new Bravely Default II. My Switch overheats... the fan ceased to function. I ordered a replacement.For the second time, I begin to carefully dissect my Switch. Now the two protruding bottom screw holes on the middle of the backplate broke off.So here I am. I ordered this backplate as a replacement and it’s perfect. Very easy to install. It comes with a nice screwdriver and all the screws.I highly recommend this product!

The shell I received was a breeze to install and looks amazing! I will say that the screwdriver included is decent but the bits are garbage and the reason for so many saying it's easy to strip the screwheads. If you use a decently well made ph000 and y00 bit (one that seats into the screwhead without wiggling) and apply steady force until they are loose you will have zero issue stripping screws. There is no warranty sticker to remove either for those who want the option to put it back to original.

This replaced an original Switch back cover well and was easy to install. It did not come with instructions, but I was able to figure it out easily without any trouble.The kit came with a screwdriver w/bits and replacement screws which were very helpful. The screwdriver has both the three point bit and a phillips head which saved time/effort from looking for and buying the right one. I liked that it came with standard phillips head screws to replace the OEM triangle sockets or just be spares since they're easy to lose.

Had to wait to purchase this item after I customized the joycons, so glad I did!!! The product feels and looks great!!!The kickstand is not as stable but will do.Definitely a great finished look!!!

It feels and looks good besides the bottom sticking out just too far. My biggest complaint is that nearly all of the screw holes stripped with no effort at all. If not for the fact that the main 4 go into the main shell id be worried about it falling off, i still am worried about the screws just coming out on their own now.

Fit like a glove, the extra screws are a life saver as some of my original were lostLooks great

It's a great replacement just watch a tutorial on YouTube on how to assemble and make sure you follow it step for step or might forget to put the little foam pads in place and then your joycons won't work wirelessly like I found out the hard way other then that easy to install and make sure you have a small bowl to put the screws in so you don't lose them.
