Used to get a reliable wifi connection far away. Can attest it definitely has great range with very reasonable speeds. Easy installation also. If you have 1gb+ internet, you would be limited for sure but not an issue for my internet speeds. The value for money is solid for range and reliability.

So this is a fine device. Once you get the driver onto your Linux box, this will work fine. But you'll need either a working ethernet adapter or a usb thumbdrive with the driver. For me the whole point of a usb wifi adapter is to plug it in so I can download drivers. Hence, the chipset needs to be supported. Now the companion adapter to this one is the AWUS036ACHM I think it's called. It uses Intel's AX200 chipset, which Linux supports in the standard kernel (since about 5.19 I think). Otherwise, I use a PCIe wifi card, or buy a mobo with wifi. With Windows, it doesn't matter, you normally need a usb thumbdrive or ethernet. Still a fine device--I just use Linux on most all of my machines. My preference.

Complete junk. Works nothing like advertised. The GUI interface is very dated, and constantly disconnects from my computer, even on a flat surface. Would not advise ANYONE to ever purchase this product, or use this product.I went through 2 other adapters that I tried for Alfa networks and they had the same problem.It was originally purchased for ethical pentesting, but turned into a legitimate use for Wi-Fi, but it wasn't good for either of them. I would not recommend anyone to purchase any Alfa network products.
