Tranquil Fish Calmer 8oz

This works great! We needed to transport our Koi to our new home. The drive was a bit more than an hour away. We dosed our entire garden pond CAREFULLY following the directions. We were able to net them and transfer to containers of pond water for the trip. 3 hours later the last of our Koi was transferred to their new home. Everyone made the trip calmly with no injuries and they even spawned within a week.

I remember in the 90’s and early/mid-2000’s I used a fish tranquilizer called Hypno, which was amazing at quickly and painlessly euthanizing fish. Had no odor too and came in a powder form. Since I got back into fishkeeping, however, that product seems to have disappeared and no longer available, at least commercially. So I thought I would try this. While it does immobilize the fish, they were still conscious and despite overdosing, did not euthanize or at least right away. Had to use other means to dispatch. Worse, the fish seemed to be in distress. Also, it has an off-putting odor which I’m sure is from the acetone. This product is fine to immobilize but if you’re hoping to quickly and peacefully euthanize them, better to do it some other way.

Did not seem too help much. I followed the directions andose. apprehensive to go over the recommended dose.

I need to use tranquil today or I would of returned it it was opened and you can tell there is some missing
