Jim Dunlop Flow® Gloss Pick 2.0MM - 3 Pack

Superb speed for 10 gauge and up. I use 10-52 and these 2.0 picks easily shred better than any other Jazz shaped pick I have. These are Jazz XL shape. The divot is the perfect grip. It's really ideal for a conventional grip, with the thumb and the side of the finger. The index finger joint goes right in that divot. The closest comp is the Big Stubby, also coming in 2.0 and 3.0. This is definitely better at helping you play cleanly through the string. The Stubby has more of a long gradual taper which makes it a bit sharper. That kind of slows me, trips me up slightly when it comes to shredding, though it may be desired for rhythm. The Gloss pick is thicker towards the bottom with a strong curve near the end. This shape just shreds better

Best picks for fast playing

These were on the pricy side of most Dunlop picks if this shape. Never tried one prior to seeing the photo after a search for Dunlop picks. First sight I knew how great they’d be. The gloss keeps it very comfortable, while there’s enough grip on it to keep it where you want it. I saw only 2.0mm so I went through all my Dunlop mixed packs of varying textures and sizes, found a 2.0mm, figured it might work perfect if it was the glossy ones. These picks are epic! Takes a second to get used to a thicker pick when it comes to pinch harmonics and such but they’re great. I’m a big believer in the pick effecting my playing a lot, so I don’t mind writing paragraphs about a pick. Has a lot to do with my style and tone. Some picks just won’t do the trick depending on my action and string gauge. These are perfect on my 6 string 25.5 scale, Horizon Devices Bulb Preferred 6 pack.

Overall, I like these picks quite a bit & I've used them quite a bit...& I'll probably continue to use them quite a bit too...(?) BUT! When I first started using them, I was really back & forth on whether I even wanted to continue using them or not; &, if I'm honest, there still is that occasional doubt...(?) Now though, it's more of just selecting a different pick initially for playing new material that diverges from what I'm accustomed. These picks are precise, they move fast, & they have a nice contour to them for an easy grip. They're also rigid & form a distinct point. So, while they are precise & fast, they are not very forgiving — if the tip even touches a string on an electric guitar, they will produce a fairly strong sound compared to thinner & rounded picks. So, I imagine they might frustrate many when first playing with them. It's something that you have to get used to...&, believe me, I have one that I modified, smoothing out the tip. It helped avoid the accidental strikes, but it became de-glossed &, therefore, slower & unable to produce the same quality of sound. So, I didn't end up using the modified pick all that much. Despite the initial difficulty I found using these picks, I still found myself choosing these (or this...as I've really only used one & modified another...? They're not easily destroyed...) whenever I sat down to play my guitar. & Now it's pretty much exclusive use of the 2mm Flow Gloss. So, in my opinion, the benefits are precision, speed, & clear & strong sound. The drawbacks are the learning curve or a possible adjustment to your standard manner of play. These picks are thick & unforgiving; if you take on a song with lots of power cords, you're pushing through them all...it sounds cool, but it will either tax your hand or your wrist more than you may be accustomed depending on your form & rate of adapting to the different pick. If you use a thinner pick & rely on the pick bending, these won't...& playing a power cord might feel like you're going to rip the strings right off of your guitar. That's not likely, but it will wear your hand, wrist, & arm down in short order. Overall, they're less than $10 for 3; they're unique; & I think they are definitely worth trying out. After all, I went from hating them to more or less preferring them as standard use...(?)

Tapered, thick and hard. They produce a nice tone. They have become my favorite picks.

I am a huge fan of this pick. The control is great. You get a nice sharp attack and an easy to hold pick, to keep the riffs coming. These picks keep an edge for more than one session. Depending on your session. But killer picks. Give em a shot. Plenty of thickness sizes to choose as well.

started using the other FLow picks a couple years ago- really liked them and never thought I would use a 1.5 or 2mm pick but it just feels right. Saw these a month ago and bought them.. hands down my favorite pick. You dont have to fight with these they fit they are comfortable and they glide over the strings.. Just dont lose them as they are expensive compared to other picks.

I really like the Flow Gloss 2mm picks. The shape and thickness makes fast, intricate runs so easy to play. The only downside is the chirp the pick makes when it hits the strings. For overdriven and distorted tones, the chirp is great and really adds to your tone, but for playing delicate clean tones and ambient type stuff the chirp is less than ideal. Fortunately, this Flow Gloss pick has the exact same dimensions as the Dunlop Big Stubby pick. The big Stubby comes in a purple glossy lexan type and a nylon type. The lexan has the same gloss finish as the Flow Gloss pick, but has a slightly different tone and a bit less chirp. The nylon is of course a bit darker than the previous two, but has almost no chirp at all, which is great for cleans. What's great is that the Big Stubby varieties are significantly cheaper than the Prime Flow Gloss. I use all three as my main picks depending on what I'm playing. This is a really fantastic pick shape.

Es buena, pero su precio es mucho. Pienso que encuentro en México lo mismo en calidad, pero mucho más barato.

Super son, épaisseur parfaite, permet le jeu rapide facilement. C'est un excellent médiator. Son défaut : les écritures blanches (un transfert à priori) se barrent avec la sueur... et on en a plein les mains. J'enlève ces transferts avec un peu d'alcool ménager sur un chiffon et c'est fini. La durabilité est bonne. Par contre, le prix a plus que doublé en 6 mois. Déjà qu'ils étaient chers à 3 EUR l'unité, c'est désormais vraiment hors de prix. Je vais chercher un autre modèle. Dommage
