Very useful
Useful and easy to use. Not only at designing and inspiration but also during site inspection and handing over phase. The good trick it’s also can be calibrated with other apps on the App Store so you can extend it’s use outside Muse environment. See for yourself!

It’s a good gadget but it’s not suited to the uk I don’t think. Dulux matches mostly are not recognised to uk mixing machines so I’m guessing this is because it’s not for the uk market, I could be wrong, but the only paint brand it seems to match well is farrow and ball, crown is not even on the list of manufacturers installed in the app. Its ok but rather expensive for what it can achieve, I wish I brought a better colour scanner there are a few others out there that are more expensive, so if I use this one much I will probably invest in a more expensive one.

We have two rooms in our home that were painted slightly different shades of gray about 6 years ago. Over that time, both paints have faded, in fact, in a way that makes them difficult to distinguish from one another. Needing fresh touch-up paint, and knowing that the original paint colors would be different now, I decided to try Color Muse. It was easy to set up and use. Working with textured walls was a bit of a challenge, as it caused the readings to vary a bit. So, what I did was to take about a dozen readings in an area, noting which paint colors showed up with the lowest delta-E (color difference of product vs the Color Muse sample). Turns out I was right - the two grays had faded out to pretty much the same color (which is strange, but oh well). From there, I did some research on the two colors the app recommended them, and did some color calculations relative to the original paint colors, looking for a color that shifted color as evenly as possible (trying not to put up a paint with a low overall change but a big red shift, for example). Result was absolutely indistinguishable from the paint already on the wall. I'll definitely be using this outdoors for touch-ups in the spring!

Upon initially receiving the device, it wouldn't connect to my phone, despite following the provided instructions and the troubleshooting through the app. I charged my Muse for about 30 minutes, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, restarted my phone, it finally connected, and no issues since. Onto the device's performance: I use PPG Paints exclusively in my business, but my customers usually give me a Valspar or Sherwin Williams HGTV pallete they found at Lowe's. Rather than flip through my color books, just to get close, I set the app to the major brands available here, and tap a button. I have tested walls in my own home and it has gotten every color EXACTLY right. I used PPG. It got the manufacturer and color name correct, Everytime. I also went to my parent's house, who recently had their house painted with SW, (before I became a full time painter) and again, it matched everything. Cons: textured ceilings are difficult to get a read on, because outside light can creep in. Would be nice if there were some type of soft foam adapter that could twist on. But, if you could obtain or create a flat sample, I trust the reader could get very close.

This thing saved me a ton of trouble! I live in a loft with walls spanning 2 stories. So not only would I have to paint corner-to-corner, but also 2 stories if I couldn’t get a close match to original paint for touch-ups. The original paint was Duron which was bought out by Sherman-Williams. I took them the original can to match and it was too dark. I took them a chip from my wall, and it was too light. I even tried mixing the light and dark paint with some luck. As a last attempt, I bought this device. I took multiple readings from the wall with 2 different apps (Sherman Williams and Color Muse) and purchased the paint that showed up in the top three for each reading. The match is so close that I even had trouble finding the spots when I went back to see if it dried. I know these things are hit or miss, but this thing is worth giving a try.
