Is this an autosense stand?

Yes, the stand has a small magnet in it and the LS2208 scanner senses the magnet and scans automatically. For example, a stack of books could be scanned very quickly by putting their barcodes one at a time under the scanner while it is in the stand.

Is this a imager scanner?

No. This is a 1 Dimension (1D) Laser Scanner. Most of the 2 Dimensional scanners are imagers. Like a DS4308

Is this compatible with an iphone 7 plus provided an adapter is used for the usb port?

I have not tried to use this with an iPhone. I do not have an adapter to attempt. I will say I have used it on many different PCs and Laptops and it autoloads the drivers very well and is ready to go to work quickly.
