Q: Will this attach to a rear bike rack?

I suppose it will as long as the bike rack is wide enough for the two straps. I have mine on the center handle bar, but it would also work attaching to the seat springs (if you have them).

Q: What is the distance between the straps?

I have three of these bike bags......one on each bike and the straps are 2 inches apart on each bag. I have used this bag hanging from a seat, hanging from my handlebars, and hanging within a basket attached to my rear rack. They are handy to have on hand.....and my faithful bike trunks, catchalls for my everyday rides.

I have two of these bags on different bikes and in both cases I use the bags with the straps angled out from the center of the bag instead of straight back. I find that the bag is stabalized this way. On the handle bars I did this to accommodate a speedometer and headlamp on either side of the handlebar stem. And with this bag I cut stiff foam inserts circles to stuff in the ends of the bag to keep a rounded appearance at the front of the bike. The second bag I have hanging from a basket I carry at the back of my bike. This bag hangs from the basket and fits in the space between the basket and the rear of my seat, and rests on that front unused part of my rear rack. In this location I keep the bag floppy so it can fit the opening and give me just that little extra space to carry extra tools and not take up my basket space for market trips. Angling the straps helps to keep it from moving around back there. The clips and ties are well sewed on and are of high quality. I have a number of other Bushwhacker bags that I have been using for over 10 years and they hold up well to my daily use. Plus they are waterproof.

Q: My bike workout goes past a fancy wine store, will this bag hold a bottle of wine?

I like the way you think. Sadly no, the bag is nine inches long, and bottle is 12-13.5 inches long.
