HTML and CSS QuickStart Guide: The Simplified Beginners Guide to Developing a Strong Coding Foundation, Building Responsive Websites, and Mastering ... (Coding & Programming - QuickStart Guides) Review: Great beginner book but should have covered layout - I've done HTML and made an attempt to learn CSS before. This book is a GREAT choice for beginners as well as myself. The examples are pretty easy to follow and made sense. Most of all this was THE book on CSS I was looking for. My previous attempt to learn CSS was overly complicated and convoluted and left me completely confused on CSS and barely able to get the job done. Perhaps it was because it was for the specific software I was using rather than just CSS. Regardless, after this book I feel confident with CSS now and was surprised how easy it actually is when properly explained. My only complaint on this book is that I think it should have covered page layout with parent DIVs and child DIVs or page layout in general. That's definitely the next thing to learn after reading this book. But I was able to easily find a video on page layout after reading the book and took it to the next level. This book prepared me for that and got me to a place where I was ready for that. Hopefully the next version of the book will include page layout techniques to give your website a more professional look. I'm giving it 5 stars because page layout and graphic design really probably are intermediate topics. So, for an HTML and CSS book, this really "hit the spot"! Review: Easy to follow for a beginner! - It’s easy to follow and understand, like putting a puzzle together following step by step instructions eventually feeling more and more confident. You will learn how to build a website starting with HTML. Love the exercises and snippets. If you never used VS code text editor, I suggest watching video on social media about VScode editor if you use this book. VS is a great code editor and it’s free. Pro tip- install live preview from extensions from your explorer pane, it saves time refreshing a browser to see your work and refreshes in real time as you build and style your pages. The book will go into detail about more technical terms as you move through the chapters. I am a student in Front End Web development and everything internet. This book does a good job identifying some of the technical terms of how browsers display HTML documents in a viewport leading up to responsive design. This book is beginner friendly. I don’t think you need any knowledge of HTML, or CSS to start with this book. You don’t need to be an IT technician either, just a simple understanding of how the internet works. You do need to have an interest in learning to code though because it can be a learning curve. Persistence, patience, and lots of practice will make you successful and that’s the payoff. A Solid Book & Place To Start!
So far I'm enjoing this book and I do recommend it for beginners and novice programmers alike. It's a sold read and an extremely solid place to start. I knocked off a star because it also does tend to be a little longer than needed.

Amazing book
One of the standout features of this book is its stunning design. Each page is meticulously crafted with vibrant colors, clear diagrams, and engaging layouts, making complex concepts easy to understand and visually appealing. But beyond its aesthetics, the content itself is top-notch. Duckett breaks down HTML and CSS in a way that’s approachable and easy to digest. Whether you’re learning the basics of structuring web pages with HTML or delving into the intricacies of styling with CSS, the book provides clear explanations and practical examples every step of the way.

I was lost almost immediately
I am sure this is a wonderful introduction for someone who already knows a bit about coding. But for the absolute beginner, it leaves much to be desired. It assumes more experience than most people starting from scratch would normally have. This is a common problem with texts by professionals who do not get input from amateurs.

HTML and CSS Guide: Readability
I am using this book as a supplement to my certificate program. Having an additional reference or alternative perspective on resolving various coding situations is helpful. The authors' readability and simple approach are beneficial. Simple is always better.

This is an excellent book. Highly recommended. Engaging, clear and friendly text. Very hands off, it really is like a guide in that the author just steers you in the right direction, and encourages you to find things out for yourself. If, like me, you don't do "linear learning" and like to jump about a bit and try different things .. to break stuff and put it back together again, then this is for you. By the end you'll have a decent grasp of the topic and will be ready to learn some more. Very good book! Very good indeed.

This book i actually liked. One of the few programming books that is good. There is code snippets included to explain different things, that is one thing that is missing from alot of books in this category. Be aware this book is for absolute beginners, if you are looking for more advanced stuff you should look elsewhere but if you just have started this can help you.
