My Dog Inspects the Bowl First. This One Gets No Inspection.
We have been through the dog food shuffle before. The finicky sniff, the walk-away, the existential stare that says "you expect me to eat this?" Pro Plan Shredded Blend Beef and Rice gets none of that. The bowl is empty before I finish washing my hands. The formula combines hard kibble with soft shredded beef pieces, and that texture combination genuinely seems to matter to dogs. It is not just a gimmick. Beef is the first ingredient, and the formula includes live probiotics for digestive health, omega-6 fatty acids for coat condition, and a balanced protein-to-fat ratio for maintaining healthy body weight. After several months on this food, coat condition has visibly improved and digestion has been consistent with no issues. The 35 lb bag is a good value and holds up well if stored properly in an airtight container. Worth noting: if you are switching from another food, transition gradually over about a week to avoid stomach upset. That applies to any food change, but it is worth the reminder. This is manufactured in the USA by Purina, a company with a long track record in pet nutrition. Great dog food!
My dog was so tired of his previous food, never wanted to eat. I read up on Purina Pro Plan, highly recommended by veterinarians. When this dog food arrived, my dog immediately looked excited for me to open it. I poured some in his bowl, and he devoured it! Yes, it’s expensive, but seeing my dog enjoy eating again is well worth it.

My dogs seem to really like it, and rotating between the different flavors keeps them interested. It is on the expensive side, but I feel the quality is worth the cost, especially since it lines up with other premium brands. Ordering this from Amazon is great. Pet stores were iffy on size and flavors s. Amazon has good variety of flavors and sizes. This brand was recommended by the shelter. We have it on automatic monthly order. Dog is doing well with this food.
