Great Sound from Cheap Mic
I'm actually quite surprised out how well this works. Yes studio sound is what comes across on this mic. Impressive. At $20 I really can't complain and love it. Others have commented on how much better I sound when gaming with them. Also being a separate mic, if I break it, just grab another, no need to replace the whole headset. Also works with any headset that has the 3.5mm jack. I did have trouble getting this to be recognized on my motherboard back plug for some reason. That's probably a PC issue. Works just fine on the front plug of my PC. It comes with a Y adapter if you need to plug the mic and headset into different ports. I tried to get it to work with my Bose volume puck but haven't had any luck. Its an older Bose PC speakers and has been dropped in the past, so maybe yours would work. During game play you can see when your mic is picking up your voice and transmitting it. I have my options turned on to eliminate background noise and so forth. I can eat, drink, and laughably breath without it transmitting. Nobody wants to hear you breathing on your mic. Also if I just pull the mic away from my face / mouth area and place it in the upward position near the top of my head, I can have conversations with my wife in the room without it being broadcasted to everyone in the lobby. Fits my my headphones (Phillips 50mm open back) perfectly and is just the right length to reach my mouth area without being directly on it. Flexible as well. Absolutely would buy again.

xBox One Headset Adapter Solution for ALL Headphones INCLUDING Apple Headphones (And Apple-Ready Ones Too)!!
This review is intended for GAMERS, so if your looking at this mic for other purposes, you may be better off reading another review. That said, I have the UE 6000 headphones, which are Apple ready, and wanted to use them for online gaming and chat on xBox One online. Because the UE 6000s are Apple-ready, the inline mic will NOT work due to ground and mic rings on the jack being flipped from the "standard" used in the xBox One headset adapter. But, using this mic with the UE 6000s WORKS PERFECTLY!! This cord will work with ANY Apple based headphones (so long as your headphone cord is detachable). The cord is of impressive build and performance quality! Other player's voices are clear (limited by your headphone quality of course), and everyone you're talking to will hear you clearly. Nobody has complained about the quality of this mic. The mic receives sound on both sides, so it's basically "reversible", which means it doesn't matter if your cord plugs into the L/R side of your headphones. As for the mic stem, it's perfect! Very flexible, and will retain whatever shape you place it in. It's lightweight, so it's not going to fatigue the wearer after long term use. And the max volume while playing online is LOUD (though this may be attributed to the UE 6000s). Many people have complained of low volume while using the headset adapter with whatever headset they're using. The quality of the cord exceeds the $30 cost, so it's a value purchase. Rather than buying a new set of Turtle Beaches, Trittons, etc, this mic's value becomes an even greater value. ***- The xBox One Headset Adapter is a MUST! This cord will not bypass the need for the adapter. Because this cord wasn't designed exclusively for gaming, the cord is on the long side (6ft long). However, it does come with a velcro strap to tie the cord and shorten it. It's a solid solution, or you could just use a twist-tie for the same purpose. The only slight complaint that could be made about this mic is that if you rub it, you'll hear some SLIGHT muffling in your headphones. But, you only really notice it if there's no sound coming through the headphones. When playing, I never noticed any sound interference at all. Rather than buying the Polk 4-Shot gaming headset for $160, or the XO Sevens for $135, I'd strongly recommend this alternative for the same price- this V-Moda mic ($30), the xBox One Headset Adapter ($25), and the UE 6000 headphones. As of 3/26/2014, these headphones are listed on Amazon for $80 (in white), and $100 (in black). I did a side-by-side comparison with Beats Studio, and these 6000s sounded better/clearer with just as much bass if you wanted. Plus, you can then use these headphones "on the go" unlike turtle beaches, tritons, etc. And their build quality is far superior to the Polk and others. In conclusion, this mic is perfect for turning ANY pair of detachable cord headphones into a gaming headset when used with the xBox One Headset Adapter. The construction and performance are top notch, and the mic stem is highly customizable. If you already have a quality pair of headphones that you feel would make a great gaming headset, then buying this mic is a no-brainer. If you don't already have a quality pair, it's worth your time and money to put together a gaming headset using this mic. And if you go this route, start by looking at the UE 6000s!!

Crystal clear voice, but finnicky mute switch and some audio bleeding
I was looking for a microphone that had crystal clear voice instead of the muddy audio some pc microphones have, and this one proved to be it. The sound is accurate and clear when recording my voice. It does pick up my breathing and doesn't muffle it enough. I wish it had a strong wind cover that could negate heavy breathing. I love how it easily plugs into my Philips SHP9500 headphones' 3.5mm jack. My setup is: Computer (USB port) -> USB extension cable -> UGREEN USB to Audio Jack Sound Card Adapter with Dual TRS 3-Pole -> V-MODA BoomPro -> Headphones One of my requirements was that the mic have a hardware volume and a mute switch, and this has one. It makes it so you can easily mute yourself during conversations without having to touch your keyboard. However, the mute switch doesn't mute you 100%. Sound can still get through if loud enough. It's not a complete on/off mute and sometimes it barely reduces your mic. The switch isn't as reliable as I would like it to be. Also, sometimes your computer's audio (output) will bleed into your input so the people you are chatting with will sometimes hear your computer audio. For example if you're playing a game they might be able to pick up some of your game's audio just from bleeding (as opposed to the sound being picked up by the mic itself). For the above two reasons, I took a star off. Overall, it's still a really good product and I wouldn't hesitate to get it again.

Great way to turn regular headphones into gaming headsets
I bought this because I already have a good pair of headphones and I want to use it for gaming. The Skullcandy Crusher EVO with its Sensory Bass make it very immersive for music, movies, and games. The problem is the built-in microphone isn't very good because it isn't a boom mic. I know there are some gaming headsets out there that has Sensory/Haptic bass and a boom mic (from the likes of Skullcandy, Razer, Corsair, etc.) but I didn't want to take a chance on another $200+ pair of headphones so I bought this microphone instead. I was a little concerned about this cable because the end the plugs into the headphones is TRS instead of TRRS which I've heard can affect sound quality. I'm happy to report this does not affect sound quality from your headphones and the mic is surprisingly good. In the video I've posted, I test recorded the mics on various devices (webcam, phone, earbuds, and headphones) that the average person might have and this mic beat all of them. The video is minimally edited with just the raw recording from OBS. I saw some people compare this to true gaming headsets and dedicated USB/XLR microphones. It seem that it beats the gaming headsets and it isn't too far off from the dedicated USB/XLR microphones but I cannot vouch for this. So, unless you're a professional streamer/musician/content creator this is all you need and even then, you can probably get away with this mic as an amateur content creator. This is probably the best mic you can get without setting up a dedicated USB/XLR microphone.

Good product! First one had issues, but replacement works great paired with my Philips SHP9500 headphones.
The audio quality is great and there is no discernible hissing. The cable is braided and feels like a quality cable. It has a 45 degree jack on the end which is also nice. Included is a PC Y-adapter with separate jacks for audio and microphone use. The microphone works well and is easily adjustable. However, I do have one issue with the BoomPro. The in-line volume control/mic mute switch has an issue with the volume control wheel. If the volume wheel isn't turned all the way up, it will only output either left or right channel audio. If you push against the volume control wheel then you'll get stereo audio, but as soon as you stop pushing against it, it will revert back to mono audio. I've registered my product with V-Moda using their easy to use QR code system and have submitted a support ticket. Other than that it seems like a great product that should work well with any headphone that supports a 3.5mm input jack. I'm using my V-Moda BoomPro with the Philips SHP9500 headphones http://amzn.com/B00ENMK1DW. I use them for music, console gaming (Xbox One: I have the Elite controller which has a 3.5mm jack so there is no need for an adapter) and for PC gaming. I will update this review and revise my star rating once the problem has been fixed to my satisfaction. UPDATE: I received an email from V-Moda Customer Service on 12/24/15. They requested that I destroy the product by cutting it up and that I provide pictures as proof of destruction. I emailed them today (12/28/15) and I sent proof, along with my address. They are going to send me a new BoomPro Mic free of charge and I'll update the review once I receive my replacement unit. UPDATE 1/10/16: V-Moda Six Star Service has been great, albeit a bit slow to respond. I guess they had been dealing with illness at the office and my support ticket wasn't transferred to the next person in line. However, the agent I spoke to (David) did come through and I received my replacement unit yesterday 1/09/16. I am happy to report that this unit has none of the volume control issues that my first one did and I am satisfied with how V-Moda rectified the problem. I assume that this was a limited QA/QC issue and I do hope that no other issues arise. So far I am very happy with this product and I will update this review if that changes.

The Mic Works Great *UPDATED*
*UPDATE 1/23/14* I got my replacement BoomPro a few days ago and it works flawlessly. No difference in audio quality. Updated to 5 stars, as this mic is in a class of its own, and a much nicer and cleaner of having a mic attached to your headphones (most headphones that have a 3.5mm jack on one of the ear cups; those that come with a detachable cable) for gaming. *ORIGINAL REVIEW* I bought this mic to pair up with my V-Moda Crossfade LP2 headphones (soon to have the M100's!) for gaming and phone calls. After doing some research, I found there's not many options in this type of mic. Beyerdnyamic makes one that plugs in the same way, and you can actually detach the mic part, but it's twice the price. Other than that, there's the modmic and several others that require an extra cable. So for my purposes (PS4 gaming and cell phone calls), I wanted a solution that only uses a single cable, and plugs directly into my headphones. As with all of V-Moda's gear, the build quality is phenomenal. Nothing is creaky or loose, the cable is plenty long (79"), it has the kevlar coating on the cord and the steelflex boomarm work great. It easily bends where needed and stays put. Both the mute button and volume control work as they should and don't feel cheap, and the shirt clip also feels very solid. Other than not including a windscreen, I have no complaints whatsoever regarding build quality. Regarding windscreens, these fit perfectly (nice and snug), work great at blocking out wind noise while maintaining crystal clear voice quality, and are a steal at under 5 bucks for 8 windscreens. In regards to voice audio, the BoomPro mic works great. My voice is heard loud and clear and no one I've spoken to while wearing the BoomPro mic has complained. Now in regards to audio quality on my end, there seems to be an issue. When using either the standard audio-only cable or the one button speakeasy cable that came with my LP2's, the audio is loud and clear. Music comes through with plenty of volume. When using the BoomPro mic, the music audio seems to be slightly lower. I'm not sure if this is by design or if I got a defective mic, but I have a replacement on the way to try out. In addition, I'll be further testing the BoomPro mic with some other audio devices and with different headphones to see if that makes a difference. Note that the audio volume doesn't decrease by a lot; just a tad, hence the single star deduction. If my mic turns out to be defective, I'll be updating my review to 5 stars. I'll update once I get the replacement and I do some more testing.

Works great so far, and seems reliable enough (also works with ATH-M50x) EDIT: Mute switch broke
I initially bought a different inline boom mic, because it was slightly cheaper and had better reviews. I guess the reviews on that one must have been fake, because after looking into it it seems they change the product name every few months once people inevitably realize that it's garbage. That one failed within two days, so I decided to give this one a try. I did have to buy a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter to get it to work with the M50x, and slightly modified both the headphones and the adapter, but now everything fits together perfectly. I was hesitant about buying this one considering a lot of reviews seem to say it rarely lasts a year, but from what I've heard the customer service and warranty are pretty good (plus the additional $4 4 year warranty I bought off Amazon), and the absence of literally any viable alternatives meant that this is what I went with. It's been perfect for my use. The cord itself is a braided cable that feels high quality, and it's so long that I usually keep it coiled up in the little velcro loop it comes in. The inline volume/mute controls are super nice to have, and basically not optional when it comes to gaming for me, because it takes about 30 seconds and 5 menus to change the volume through the PS4 software. The mic is very high quality; when I tested it on the Mac compared to the built in "studio-quality three-mic array" this actually sounded better, and didn't pickup much/any fan noise nearby. The audio quality through the cord seems to be identical to that of the cord that comes with the headphones. I'll probably take away a star if it does end up breaking anytime soon, but even if I have to deal with replacing this every six months I'll probably keep using it considering the next best alternative is a dedicated gaming headset or USB microphone with a boom arm, both of which would cost upwards of $150 to get similar quality to this one, and would be much less convenient. I'd definitely recommend it. EDIT: Removed two stars After a few months of use the mute switch has stopped working completely. For a while it would just make me mostly silent instead of muting me completely, and now it does nothing at all. Their warranty probably covers this but after filing a claim their website says I'm supposed to ship it to them, wait for them to attempt to repair it, then wait for them to ship back the repaired or replaced microphone and that it could take 6-8 weeks, which sounds ridiculous to me. I've emailed them requesting an advance replacement as the mic still works mostly fine and I don't want to go two months without anything, so I guess I'll see what happens. Otherwise the product is still pretty good, but this issue drops it down from the original 5 stars to 3 or maybe 4 depending on the customer service.

Satisfied.
Works as intended, maybe the sound can be a bit low, and sometimes the sound seems to be coming unbalanced on the headphones, but moving the volume seems to fix it (might not even be the fault of this product).

Excelente produto.
Veio bem embalado e chegou antes do esperado.

Juste excellent!

Absolutely amazing
Great product. My new Sony 1000XM4 microphones sucked. Wanted a good microphone for conf calls and casual gaming. This one fits right in..the sound quality is exceptional. Goes well with my XM4

Excellent addition to many headphones
Initially I looked into purchasing this for my V-Moda Crossfade LP (original, not 2) as I prefer the idea of a boom mic, rather than in-line mic for playing games and using voice chat through Steam. I was rather surprised to find that this will not work with only V-Moda products but any headphones that have a standard 3.5mm jack (there might be exceptions, but I don't know), as the mic aspect is only in the cable. That's excellent news for future purchases of headphones and my recommendations of headsets for other people. Mic quality has been reported to me as being exceptionally clear. It's a mic so don't expect to sound like you're in the same room as another player and, obviously, it will depend on the quality of their headset as well but the first description was that I sounded like I was talking on a phone with good clarity. It's a mic - there are variables galore but positive feedback all round. The cable itself is pretty decent. The cable has a standard 3.5mm jack that works with Apple products, 3DS systems and the like. There's a separate adapter for plugging into the PC. I'm not sure about the in-line controls but I'm going to leave it out of pros vs cons because I can't make up my mind; there's nothing that I can put my finger on that is "bad", let's put it that way. The boom mic, astoundingly, feels solid and flimsy at the same time. It's extremely easy to bend the mic (cable? Pole? I don't know the term) but at the same time it doesn't feel like it's going to break any time soon. I can only assume that it's that well-made. If I had one niggle about the cable it's the inability to vary the length; it's too long for where I have it plugged in and I can see that other people would have a similar issue if they plug this into the front of their PC, for example. I can't call it a negative per se, however, as it's a cable length. Some people may need it to be longer. One negative I do have is that the PC adapter could have had a clearer way to illustrate which is the mic and which is audio. There is a symbol on the side of the jacks with headphones on one and an arrow on the other but I would have preferred coloured bands (do they have a term?) on the jacks, rather than them both being black. Not much else can be said, really. It's a cable that works with the headphones and the mic is clear.
