Finishing off our basement and laying down some carpet squares. I borrowed my brother's oscillating tool from Harbor Freight and thought I had completed the installation. I knew I wanted one of my own but I have a perception that you get what you pay for. I read reviews on Wood Magazine to get an idea of what was out there. The Bosch had a positive review so I ordered this one. Back to completing the carpet installation with thresholds, I found the need to undercut the doorframes some more. The Bosch was a much better tool. It has the slow start that makes it easier to start your cuts. And the variable speed helps keep a clean cut. The tool-free blade change is real convenient. I need to locate some extra blade types to handle other future jobs. The included storage box for the accessory blades is convenient but needs some additional thought on how to organize your various blades. It seems that you have to pull out each blade to determine which is the one you want. Overall, a good valuable tool that I'll always pick up first.

Very fast shipping despite my choosing free shipping. Could not find this model in a local big box store with a hard case which also came with a small parts box, blades, and sand paper accessories. Cuts fast. Starlock system makes installing blades fast and easy, and removing hot blades without touching the blade. Have to use Starlock blades, but Bosch blades are easily availble and high quality.

I bought this product for the Bosch quality. but the attachment blades available is what sold me. the curved blade for cutting carpet removal or roofing needs. I have a whole house carpet removal job coming up. I ordered the optional curved blade to make quick work on the carpet removal. that job alone pays for the tool and blade combined. well worth the investment. that's how I pay for my tools. cuts carpet like butter. you will thank yourself and impress your friends.

Excellent tool

I bought this because of the advertised versatility of the starlock system ( how its compatible with all other brands of blades).... It can only accept bosch starlock blades. And they're the most expensive ones. They appear good quality, but if you hit a couple nails while cutting wood, they're toast. And the blades are roughly $30 a piece. If I could do it again, I'd buy the new oscillating tool from harbor freight. It's essentially a copy of the fein, and take the standard oscillating blade. Hoping someone will read this and save a couple hundred bucks.

I have no idea how we lived without this super handy cool tool. I foresee a few other tools being "retired" out because this one replaces so many other tools. As a non-handy person, I did need to watch a few videos and my husband initially used the wrong blade/tool to cut some nails so we had to get a replacement blade, but easy to find and easy to get new blades which are color coded. In his defense the blade said it was ok for metal and it did cut a bunch of nails but then the teeth started to bend. But totally user error. Love how easy it is to use and lightweight.

Worth it

This is my second oscillating saw, the first was another manufacturers' but no comparison in quality and power. This tool is top shelf, very strong, feels great in your hand with great vibration control. The saw just feels as if the blade and the saw are one so accuracy and control is really enhanced. I know Bosch makes another saw with more power than this model so unless you're sawing very tough and thick materials all day every day, this one is extremely capable.

Très satisfaite de mon achat. Beaucoup de lames pour les divers travaux. Kit très complet. Fonctionne à la perfection. Comme toujours Bosch est à la hauteur pour des bricoleurs qui aiment les outils de qualité.

Very solid construction, easy to use, well balanced. Packaged in a light duty case with ample room for the cable and separate box for accessories. So far I used it for sanding and cutting fresh wood. It performs as it should, it is not exceedingly noisy on lower speeds. The unit is made in Hungary, all accessories are from Switzerland.
