THERMOSTHERMOS Stainless King Food Flask, Matt Black, 710 ml

I bought this item to take a hot meal to work in the office. I have to say I am astounded by the quality of it!I take in a variety of things to work. Chicken or vegetable curries with rice, Bolognaise, chili con carne, cold chicken and salad, tinned soup, and all sorts of leftover vegetables from tea the night before. It even keeps a baked potato, beans and tuna hot if you cut up the spud after reheating it in the microwave. It has paid for itself easily in the savings I have made from using the work canteen.I find the best way to use this is prepare the for the night before and keep it in a pyrex or plastic jug in the fridge. This also helps to estimate the right amount you want to eat. In the morning, blast it for 5 minutes in the microwave and add to the flask. I eat my lunch at around mid day and the food is always piping hot. I have read on the internet people talking about food poisoning from keeping rice hot. I have been doing it for months with basmati rice and I am fine, many of my work colleagues do the same so I would recommend it. Worth every penny.

Due to this being a good brand and getting good reviews I was expecting this to be really good but I was disappointed. Although it was very leak proof I was let down by the way my food did not stay hot for five hours let alone nine.I followed the instructions, filling it with boiling water for ten minutes and microwaving the food till it was piping hot then putting it in the flask immediately and ensuring that there was some liquid in the meal. Five hours later my food was only lukewarm and after eating it I had an upset stomach. The next day the same thing happened again and I dare not use it any more.I feel this flask would be better used for liquids only, like hot drinks or soup.i have not tried it with cold food so cannot comment on that.

Got this for my partner to take his lunch into work (homemade soups mostly or pasta etc). Great size, definitely enough for him and he has a good appetite. I always boil the kettle and fill the Thermos with some water for 5 minutes or so before adding the food, which I also make sure is piping hot. I put homemade soup in it at 5:30am one morning and my partner had his lunch at 12:30pm and it was still hot, so really pleased with it. It's simple to clean, and even though it was a little pricey if it lasts a long time and does the job then it's definitely worth it, better than getting a cheaper one but it not be as good or it leaks!

Excellent purchase. I bought this for my husband as he started a job working outdoors a few months ago. I preheat the flask overnight (Pour hot water into it) and then fill it with hot soup in the morning approx 7:15am, it is still hot by the time he has his lunch break at 2pm. When I forget to preheat the flask the contents are warm instead of hot, still a good temperature to enjoy though. The opening is big enough to get a cleaning sponge in. We have used this flask for stew when we have had a day out together, when filled it feeds us both. The flask contents stays hotter when it is filled than when it is only half full. It's worth spending the extra few pound on a decent flask, rather than a standard flask that may disappoint. Nobody likes cold soup!

Purchased this flask because where I work has no microwave facilities, I filled the flask with boiling water and left it for 10 minutes before filling it with rice and pork for work. This was at 6am before work. I had my break at 2oclock in the afternoon and was delighted to say my food was HOT not warm when opening!! Beyond satisfied and definitely reccomend to anyone wanting a hot meal in areas otherwise unable. I did fill the food to the top too. I reccomend taking a bowl or tub to pour the food into as it's a bit awkward to eat out of unless you have something like soup.
